My understanding is that the current AD would never consider making that call.

He played the Marshall situation all wrong....should not have bowed to the media pressure and set up a situation where Marshall would be able to go nuclear in a negotiated settlement. It might not have looked good at the time, but the university should have stuck by Marshall for at least that season.

Boatright should go before anybody else does because WSU is going to need a solid AD in the not to distant future.

I kind of hope CP doesn't play on Wednesday. I'm not opposed to him getting some extra time off to try and heal and strengthen that ankle as much as possible before conference play. We shouldn't need him to beat Prairie View. Maybe this could get Jenkins some more time while CP recovers.

Since Jenkins was hurt enough to not even suit up today... I'm not sure we will be counting on him to play.

That doubly hurt us tonight. HCIB needed to pull Etienne tonight when he started going hero ball and taking horrible shots. Then I got to looking... Who do you put in? If you have Porter at the one, who really needed to be sitting because he obviously was hurt, then with Jenkins out, that left Grant.... Who was no better than Etienne in his decision making. That's really it for our depth at guard.

It was a major misshire. We could be so far down the irrelevance train in 4 or 5 years, that this job and program becomes an afterthought. You can say 8-3 is awesome but it’s been against a patsy schedule and most importantly it’s the way in which the team is playing, even during wins, that is pointing to a major sign of trouble. Little to no adjustments are happening, there’s zero player accountability, and in-game coaching seems to not even exist. So yah, if you wanna throw COY around and a covid-raged conference championship and prop up “8-3” like everything is good, then go for it. But don’t get mad at the “crazies” who were trying to pull you from a sinking ship that you’re already 5 feet underwater to begin with.

I didn't get to watch the 20-0 run by NT. I'm at my data limit and it's likely to cost me a $10 overage charge to watch the game now. It was an easy decision to not risk $10 to watch this game from what I heard.

Let me check if what I think I heard from Kennedy and posters here is right.

From Kennedy, he said Etienne and Council were doing a lot of iso and taking "forced" (in other words - bad) shots and drives were resulting in turnovers. From SN, Pohto never (or rarely) saw the floor during that disastrous 12-1/2 minute stretch. And there were no timeouts. I know that Etienne was something like 0/7 during that stretch.

I have a feeling that once Porter went down, both Etienne and Council thought "it's up to me now", resulting in a lot of hero ball being played. Maybe they understand that Grant at point is a waste of a position and there is no hope other than hero ball.

I'm not ready to throw IB under the bus quite yet, but until last year he's never been "the guy" in recruiting. Pleasant and Grant looked like solid hits and they've both turned out to be busts. Pohto is a triple off the wall. Abidde and Ricks are both taking redshirts. I have a fear they're doing that to not waste a year of eligibility at WSU and could be candidates for the portal.

Playing behind someone who's "going to the NBA after this season" and knowing that guy has to come back could convince a player that the portal is their best chance to show what they can do.

Who would you rather have back next year, Council or Etienne? It's possible you can't choose "both" unless Dennis is gone after this year, which would not upset me. Still might not be able to choose "both".

WSU needed a solid AD when Sexton was hired. The athletic department has been incompetent bordering on egregiously incompetent since Sexton was hired. WSU was in a position to hire a stud when Schaus left. Putting Sexton in there was the worst move Bardo made in his time here.

Now we're well past the time where a solid AD needs to be hired.

Agree KP should be playing more. The biggest issue today was that he was matched up against 6'6 Bell, 5th year senior who will likely be an all conference player. Pohto wasn't able to run around the 3pt line with him. Maybe we should have went to a zone or put him in at different time so he could matchup against the 6'10 post. Out game plan didn't seem to be well thought out today.

Well, I am grateful to have witnessed a golden age of Shocker basketball. I fear that in the age of the ease of players transferring, I’ll not live to see another one.

Interesting thought. Certainly the NIL changes will have a major impact as well.

Watching Nevada now and seeing an old Shock. Sherfield was terrible here with us...but id take it now. And thats how he performed back then. But he has grown and gotten better the past 2 years. Can't say that for our "star".

Hard team to figure out. We played great the last 15 minutes of the first half and then went in the tank in the 2nd half. We need scoring from the 4 position and the 3 position. Joe P should be the backup 4. RC4 needs to play. We need his scoring ability. We better sign a point guard and center for next year. I almost don’t want to go to the Memphis game. Going to be ugly. We are undersized and can’t shoot. Bad combination.

I finally got to a game after 3 years. This team is worse in person than on TV. Are they even trying? The crowd around me was yelling for IB to bench Etienne. He let all the hype go to his head apparently.
