At the risk of being eaten alive, I just wanted to come over here and compliment your team. You guys are playing at an entirely different level than you were last time we played. Sadly, you are illustrating just how far my alma mater is behind the MVC elite.

Assuming the NCAA doesn't screw you in seeding and placement, WSU really has a shot to go very, very far in the dance. I, for one, will be cheering for you. Your guys play really hard, you're extremely well coached, and I just love watching the Shocks play. Except when they are dismantling my team. Hopefully, a storm will come through and I'll lose my satellite signal...

Good luck in the rest of the season. I anticipate watching your Shockers for quite a while!

No reason to be "eaten alive" after those kind comments. Thank you.

Very classy post. Thanks. I keep wondering if the Shocks have peaked and the team just keeps taking it up another level.

Since it's already been said, I'll just reiterate that we always respect, and accept with open arms, rival fans who come here just wanting to talk sports and who show respect.

Thanks guys! I even told my son that this (your team) is the type of team I love to watch. Really enjoy the intensity and the smart play. Looking forward to being able to root for you now!!!

I was glad to see the Sycamores really competing in second half. As long as Odum is at Ind st, they will be competitive.

Outside of Odum, what is the outlook for next season?

It was stated before the game that InSU is a team that is similar to ours. Very balanced with multiple weapons. The Shox are just hell-bent on clearing the forest right now.

It looks like they lose Lathan, Printy, Walker, and Richard.

EDIT: I missed that Walker was a Senior at first.

So.....they don't return much in the way of weapons...

Next year is a giant question mark, honestly. We have Odum back, hopefully cured of the plantar fasciitis that has really hampered him this year. Our two freshman bigs are gonna be ok with some game experience. Outside of that, it's hard telling how the rest of the returnees will fare.

Two new players that might have an impact are Gonzaga transfer Manny Arop and prep school/prop 48(or whatever they call it now) casualty Khristian Smith. Smith, in particular, will be an interesting case. He probably would have been our leading scorer had he played this year - very quick, great basketball iq, outstanding finisher. He'll also be a 20 year old freshman. If his high school career is any indicator, he could be special.

We don't lose much from this year's seniors in terms of leadership, and I think a few of them may have had some off court issues this year, which limited their effectiveness.

Our recruiting class this year looks like three projects. Time will tell.

I'm sure we'll be tabbed seventh or so in the preseason balloting, and we'll deserve it. We might be a lot better than that, but it'll take A LOT of coaching skill to do that.

Frankly, being a Sycamore fan is a lot like rooting for the Cubs...
