First of all, congrats on the great season and the run that will be coming in the next few weeks...

That warning only counts towards bad coaches that inherit the golden keys... they should jump. WSU is not in that situation.

I just hope we can be competitive in the coming years. Ultimate goal is to make you hate us again.

I used to hate SIU. But at the moment they are too pathetic to hate. It'd be like the equivalent of kicking a puppy for me to hate them. Weber would be good though Id be surprised if they could afford him. They have serious budget issues (though what school doesnt?) beyond the $1.5 million they have to pay him to buy him out. But I do hope whatever new coach they get will be able to make SIU at least competitive again. The Valley is more fun when they are at least decent.

Maybe SIU will try to pull a Jim Les and bring Weber in for pennies, given his fat paycheck from Illinois.... will be interesting. Would be good for him and SIU to get back together. Good for the Valley too..

Love Jans but disagree with the tweet. Should've said "let this be a lesson to good teams who are too lazy to look outside the bench for a decent coach.". Or "never hire coaches for the sole reason of hanging on to a recruiting class."

Lowery had his moments in the spotlight. However, I was surprised SIU kept him this long. The slippery slope became sinking sand. Weber would be tough.

Oh, I just clicked on the link and noticed that it wasn't from Jans, and click through it to see who it originally was tweeted from. No time at all. I just assume whomever posted it wasn't too familiar with how Twitter worked.

Glad to see that the bake sale and carwash fundraisers were successful enough to buy him out.

Actually I think the program had declined to the point that the loss in revenue from retaining Coach Lowery exceeded the cost of buying him out.
