probs we’re evident before the pandemic with the rising cancellations in the lower $ seats.

prez trump says the problems are “bigly” and if he were in charge it would have been taken care of yesterday and the recovery would have been the biggest ever and we all know it. biden can’t remember what he said, other than to check with reagan.

Political comments aside, this is the state of college basketball now. People have too many choices for entertainment, have grown used to staying home and the only teams that really draw consistently are those who cheat or those who win 30 games every year.

Anyone stop to think the brand of basketball isn't that entertaining to the fringe fan?

The only college basketball that is “entertaining” to a fringe fan is played by teams who have three lottery picks so the fake fan can say they watched them in college.

If you think our brand is bad, go watch 40 games this weekend and tell me how many of them make you say, “wow, these teams are fun to watch”.

College basketball has degenerated to cheaters, poachers, and snake oil salesman setting the house rules. If I were FHCGM I would stay away from the coaching business for as long as I could.

The above notwithstanding, we peed down our leg losing to K-State and it probably cost us dearly in the casual fan department and may have drove some regulars away. But the bailout is made easier when there are 1,000 other things to do with your time and money now.

The "brand" of basketball hasn't changed much in the last decade. Winning ugly has been the pattern for quite a while and fans will only pack the house for that for some time. Then the excitement level of being in the building loses some of its appeal.

Defense and rebounding is not exciting to typical fans. Winning 30 games that way is entertaining. Winning 24 (just a number) games that way is going to cost some butts in seats.

What WSU needs is for Mike Cohen and Scott Thompson to return.

I’m sure a lot of people came to games just to see Marshall pace the sidelines. That was entertainment in and of itself. IB just doesn’t seem like a very fiery guy, which as a players’ coach, I’m sure is great.

The Mrs. and I came to watch the ‘sideshow’ about 15 rows up from half-court behind the scorers table. It was often worth the price of admission; we always enjoyed the well timed second-half saunter to the water cooler behind the Shockers bench with about 10 minutes remaining. Those were the days my friends.

I miss so much of that. I miss him getting mad at the crowd (he would have EVISCERATED the crowd tonight), even staring directly at me with his "don't make me come up there and beat your ass for not cheering louder" look, then when we responded you'd get the "that's the effing way to blow the roof off this ****ing building!"

It must be a watch, because jam don't shake like that.

Shaking his head while discussing a call with Higgy.

Fast walking up and down the bench.

Turning around and lighting into the assistants.

And a thousand more .......always worth the price of admission.

FHCGM never did anything without a purpose.

Man, it is funny how things work. I was literally telling my brother at the game last night that I missed watching 3G trounce around. It really was entertaining.

Speaking of player's coaches, I did not see anyone mention Kenny P.'s comments on post game radio last night. MK asked why he chose to come to Wichita after backing out of Minnesota, and basically all but said it's because IB lets the players play how they want. Or something of that nature.

Not saying that is good or bad, but found it worth noting all the same.

Little surprised there have been no JB comments from last night.

I know my wife falls into this group. She loves Gregg and enjoyed all of his reactions, good and bad. His smirk at Rug Boy during 78-65 will never not be funny to us.

                            Something both humorous and ironic.

Marshall rarely got a technical and he ranted (not said something) at the referees constantly. OTOH, IB who almost never says anything to the referees, yells at a referee the last game one time and got T'd up. It's probably not his personality, but IB probably would be better off if he was really active.
