    WICHITA, KANSAS| CHARLES KOCH ARENA
    TV: ESPN+
    RADIO: KEYN 103.7 FM https://www.radio.com/keyn/listen
SERIES: WICHITA STATE LEADS SERIES 1-0
    LAST MEETING: NOVEMBER 30, 2009
WICHITA STATE 87 ALCORN STATE 52
    GAME RECAP:

Aaron Ellis scored a season-high 14 points to lead Wichita State to an 87-52 victory over Alcorn State.

Garrett Stutz had 10 points and 12 rebounds for the Shockers (5-1), who shot 51.7 percent from inside the 3-point line.

Alcorn State (0-9) was led JaMarkus Holt's 13 points.

The Shockers blazed to a 10-2 lead behind Ellis, who topped his previous season high of 10 points before halftime.

Alcorn State got back into the game briefly, cutting the gap to 18-14 on Michael Starks' tip-in with 9:50 remaining in the half. But the Braves, playing their ninth straight road game, made only one basket in the next nine minutes and had 19 first-half turnovers.

That allowed the Shockers to take control, cruising to a 42-24 halftime advantage. Wichita State started the second half with a 15-2 run and led by as many as 33.

Looking forward to seeing what motion is kept, what is discarded, and more plays from these motion packages. There were a few concepts I really liked, a couple I didn’t, but overall I’m liking what I’m seeing from Isaac.

Aaron Ellis was a decent late find for us. I think Earl Grant recruited him. Very nice guy.

The homeless man’s Kevin Garnett. And I mean that as a compliment to Aaron. That mid-range jumper was his bread and butter. I especially remember it against Tulsa at IBA in 2010-2011.

His 4-4 and 8 points in the NIT Finals win against Alabama was pretty sweet as well that year.

Here's the deal. Even a blind squirrel finds an occasional Alcorn, but never at 21st. and Hillside is this tolerated. There will be wholesale Shocker substitutions, and our beloved Shocks will win by 21. There will be only fresh nachos sold and not stale ones as Rosewood complained of many, many, many years ago.

            Shockers 81

            Braves 60
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

I'm not sure this game will show us much. This js a team we should best by around 30. I see us playing well at some point and getting a big lead only to get away from that and start playing selfish and only winning by around 15.

              Shockers - 75

I followed some posters in the last game that took Norfolk on bets. Shox won and I also won my bet (first win of my career). However, at first I thought was going to be bad idea as the Shox were moving and scoring! Haha

Now, do I keep betting against this teams scoring?

                      On larger spreads, most likely

Had the Shocks not missed so many layups you would have lost that bet. But, as is often the case, being lucky is better than being good.

Especially these few games. They are glorified scrimmages. Lots of practice, repetitive plays, drills, etc. Final score does not matter as long as it’s a W, so they’ll be closer than they have any right to be.
