      No, I don't think so.

Whether he plays this year or not (he's already played one minute), this counts as a year of eligibility. I don't believe the NJCAA will ignore that.

Royal, your math is faulty. Play 4 seasons in five years.

Butler can't get a medical redshirt even if we wanted him too. To get one, the injury must be season-ending (though they get a little loose with that at times) and he was cleared to play by the doctors at least a month ago.

              1. last year was redshirt year (doesn't count)
              2. this year play at WSU (sparingly)
              3. next year play at Coffeyville or WestArk or wherever
              4. still two years remaining to play at SWMO or Ark State or wherever

Exactly. I would be beyond shocked if he is still around next year. Even though he is only a redshirt freshman, this is the last year that he could transfer without sitting out a year unless he went DII or NAIA. After already redshirting, sitting a transfer year= losing a year of eligibility.

Think we could get some wrestling headgear for Matt to wear the rest of the year?

I was thinking more along the lines of a full crash helmet.

It wasn't faulty math, but a misunderstanding of the original question. I thought the poster (Dan) was asking if he got two years at a juco. I now see he meant after a year of juco.

I withdraw my original response and endorse the simple response of pinstripers . . . "yes".

                            Butler

If Butler wasn't going to get into the game against Bradley, on a night where the Shocks were as short-handed as one would hope they will be this year, how much of a contributor is he likely to be? And in that case, it's almost inconceivable that he'd be back.
