  • What Player from the NIT Champ team would.........

...you want back for this years NCAA tourny run.

JT, Obvious choice but would he mess with chemistry.

Graham, Good shooter but limitations on defense

Gabe, Work horse down low but not going to fill it up.

Aaron. Could score in the paint and D it up.

I would take either Ellis or Blair. This team has enough offense but one more guy in the paint never hurts.....Wouldnt trust JT not to screw things up.

Not much you could add to this team, but Aaron or Gabe as lock down, athletic defenders on this team and wow...

        Blair or Ellis.

Would be nice to have one of those 2 as solid back up/starters at the 4.

            None of them.

With all due respect to last year's seniors, I wouldn't change a thing right now.

I agree. Why mess with success. Having one or more of those guys back on this year's team would mean that this year's team is no longer this year's team and it is impossible to know whether it would be better, worse or the same nor will we ever know the answer to that. Those guys had their chance to shine and after a number of missed opportunities they finally, to their great credit, put it together in the NIT. We will forever remember them and their contributions as Shockers.

Now it's time for this year's team to show what they can do. Let's just hope some microscopic flu bug doesn't destroy the great work they have done so far.

Besides, since these guys have all used up their eligibiity we would have to forfeit any games they played in this year.

Aaron. Provided he shot as well as he did in the game against Alabama. Nice short range jump shot is something our front line doesn't have. He wouldn't have altered the team chemistry, and could rebound and defend in a way that would really complement this year's team.

Guy Alang Ntang should have been there and here.

Obviously this is just for fun so I'll say Aaron Ellis. He rarely took I'll advised shots and was a great defender in the post and perimeter, set screens, and rebounded. I also loved the guys wicked mid range game. Just another solid all around team player.

Though I think Stutz/Durley would be an unstoppable combo at the 5/4 spots. Which personally is where I would have preferred them play. The only problem with that lineup is we are pretty soft defensively in the middle.

So I think we have enough offensive firepower and will go with AE as a final answer. Crazy part is that it's not that far fetched of a possibility for him to still be on the team. If I remember correctly there was talk of a possible red shirt.

I see everyone's point with Aaron but when you think about what we've done over the last 8 games with Ben starting who would you replace? With Ben in we have 4 sharp shooters that open up the inside. I think its pretty obvious that Ben is no slouch on defense either. With that said I know this is for fun but I would have to agree with others that I wouldn't change much that we have now. I think we've improved at every position this year so why would we step backwards?

Xavier McDaniel. He was on last year's team right?

                          This is a dumb thread.

Duh, JT. He would still be the best offensive player on this team and having JT at the 4 and #41 at the five gives us one of the best inside games in the country to go with one of the best guard tandems.

JT, makes our squad not only a potential final four team, but a national championship favorite.
