    Fun Fact #2-

Our season-low for scoring was 60 in the loss against Alabama. The last time Wichita State went the entire regular season without scoring in the 50s was in 1983-84.

      Fun Fact #3-

Wichita State currently averages 78.3 ppg, good for 17th in the country.

The last time we averaged more than that was when the 1982-83 team scored 83.4 ppg, ranking 3rd in the country.

Stay on topic guys, please. It's one thing for a 10 page + thread to go off topic eventually, but try not to make the 3rd post in a serious thread a joke.

No big surprise here. The Shocks are so much more efficient when they can get out and run. WSU really buries teams with their secondary break opportunities and points created off turnovers. The trend late in the season has been to focus a bit less on the guards crashing the boards and getting out for fast break points (thus the slight drop-off in rebounding margin). It is no wonder the Shocks score a lot and win when they do.

Secondary to this is the Shocks physical conditioning. In many recent games, the opponents have lost their legs somewhat and the Shocks are getting steals and easy baskets; pushing the score higher. Some teams are just plain gassed by the end of games.

Some teams? It seems like it's been ALL teams in the last 2 or 3 weeks. Kyles, Murry, Ragland, and Williams can all get down the floor in a HURRY, they re all deceptive and shifty going to the hoop and can split defenders to score against multiple defenders. Williams can dribble faster than most players can run.

Those 4 guys are just running the opponents ragged by midway through the second half. The breakaways and secondary break opportunities really open up late in games when the defenders can no longer get down the court fast enough to get organized for a defensive stand. I think the Shox are easily the best conditioned team in the Valley. CU may be the worst. Those guys are out of gas before the games start.

I noticed the lack of hustle towards the end of the first half against Davidson. They looked absolutely winded. They never seemed to get over it in the 2nd half. I think it's directly related to how many teams we just blow out.

                            Bumping for relevance.

27-0 when scoring 65 or more in regulation.

0-5 when scoring fewer than 65.

I knew we were screwed when I checked into my hotel, and believe it or not, got room 1313.

I should have asked for a different room.
