True story. Kenny is going to hit that jumper more often than not. He did mishandle one that should have been an easy layup and squirted out of bounds instead. Not sure if it shot out off his knee or just out of his hands, I'd have to go back and look. Until that's a regular occurrence, I'm not worries. Outside of the fastball from point blank range, there was another that wasn't attrocious, but it appeared to lead him too far under the basket and he tried to make that failed save that landed in the hands of the other team. A good pass there and it's probably an easy two. Again, I'd have to go back and watch to see if there was a defender that forced it to go too far or if it was just a misplaced pass.

I will also say that while I wasn't overly excited about the way Qua played in the first game, he looked much better in game two. I'll be curious to see how he handles things as the competition level steps up. It can take some time to adjust to size and speed and athleticism no matter what levels you're moving up to/from. I'm sure he'll continue to adapt as needed. He and Porter can be a nice pairing with different strengths at the point this year.

I remember the other pass you’re talking about and it was Grant to Pohto again on a pick and roll that would’ve been an easy two. The pass wasn’t perfect but probably one that Kenny will catch 80-90% of the time (I think he has great hands).

I’m with you in that I’m very optimistic about the Grant/Porter PG combo. Grant can almost get to the rim at will and I thought he did a nice job of distributing, especially out of the pick and roll, even though he only had two assists. He also found his range from three in the second game which is something I hoped to see from him when he signed.

All of you who think you can make these grand generalizations about the team, players and/or coaches after two stinking games are just silly.

I’m nothing if not silly. Glad you are entertained.

It's also silly to have a message board and not make observations or project how things may look going forward based on the evidence at hand, no matter how small. Though in some cases, we have more than just two games of evaluation for certain players/behavior to base such things on.

Plus, the board would be no fun without this silliness you seem to not like.

Wake me up when we play somebody with a heartbeat.

Then wake me up again after we've beaten somebody with a heartbeat.

Typical game by ES prior to the UCONN incident - 37 minutes; 16 pts on 6/11 FGs (4-7 on 3s); 7 rebounds; 2 Fouls; 1 Asst; 1 TO; 2 Blks; 1 steal

ES has not come close to duplicating this performance as a Gamecock.

Was it just me, or did it appear after that play that Porter was bitching to Pohto about using two hands. Kind of being a lousy teammate versus high five and get the next one pep talk. And I didn’t see much of Porter after that in the game? Maybe I misread the body language…
