  • St. Louis Watering Holes

Saw this question posted earlier at another place. Figured here was a good place for it too. Where are the best post-game celebrating/eating/drinking places that Shocker fans could gather at in St. Louis?

I've heard good things about center court right after the game on Sunday. No personal experience to draw upon, but looking forward to a taste!

There are bars scattered around between the arena and the hotels near the arch. Hit or miss; pick your poison.

The Landing is their bar district, right next to the Lumiere casino, always a good time!

I was actually at Laclede's Landing during their 4th of July celebration this past summer. Talk about a drunkfest. Made the CLink look like a village of Tibetan monks.

There are some good place on Washington Street downtown. I would also suggest the Soulard area. That is just south of downtown. A little too far to walk, but there are lots of cabs. Many MVC folks make it to Soulard.

Is Soulard where the good Italian eateries are located?

I second the Soulard suggestion. The Landing is the designated tourist area. I personally avoid that area. Washington Ave is hit or miss. Some decent places in there, but a lot of dance club that are d-bag gathering spots with $9 beer.

                Some Soulard favorites:
International Tap House (for the beer lovers)
John D. McGurk's (Irish pub, one of Esquire's best bars)

The Hill is the Italian restaurant neighborhood.

                    That's even further south, correct?

Never mind, Googled and mapped it. West of downtown off of I-44.

The waitresses at Hooters are heavily clothed compared to McGurk's. I could not believe it. We are talking the bare minimum to not be a strip bar.
