Agreed. When the list starts out with players from Kansas and North Carolina, then goes on to include players from Michigan State, Syracuse, and Georgetown, Wichita State has not had that much NCAA success comparatively.

The hivemind is starting to get pretty old around here.
The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off.

15 Seniors Poised to Lead Their Team to a National Title -- Must be a typo. The Shocks only have 5 Seniors.

KC---I don't think anything the shockers do could ever please you.

Why you keep coming with you're negative thoughts is really sad.

I was more disturbed by the comment that we are a 'small program'. What is that supposed to mean? Facilities? Fan support? Coaches salary? I think not.

I'm sorry, however a top 10 conference shouldn't be considered 'weak'. How many conferences are there? If the Valley is in the top 1/3, how could it be considered weak? Honestly, that comment pissed me off more than any other. Regardless of the publicity, I lost respect for the writer immediately... and obviously, the past 20 years is his limited scope of Shocker history. I don't care what anyone says, we were a POWER in the late 50's and 60's and also the 80's.

"Running a team that has really shown up this season, Garrett Stutz and Wichita State are blowing up the mid-majors. The Shockers have "shocked" pretty much everyone, looking at a pretty high seed considering how weak their conference is. Stutz and his crew may mostly be seniors, yet his skills have him leading the team in both points and rebounds with 14 and eight per game, respectively. While this is a small program with not a lot of success on the basketball court historically, this experienced group of men, led by this stunning senior, know how to craft an upset."

Yeah, I must say that the author is the one that is small, weak, unsuccessful and without history...History and size is what this fanbase clings to!

On paper the mvc isn't very good this year outside of wsu and that place in eastern Nebraska. To have all the teams right at .500 doesn't make it look strong. I'm not saying I agree, just trying to look at it from an outside perspective

WSU has had success. Clearly eight NCAA tournaments isn't a lot. But many good WSU teams of the 1950s and 60s would have been in the NCAA but for the conferences getting only one invite. (and of course there is the 82 and 83 teams that were on probation)

WSU has been ranked in the 1950s, 60s, 80s, 2000s, and now the 2010s. There are lots and lots and lots of Div 1 programs that can't say that.

WSU has had deep runs in the NCCA tounament in three difference decades; 1960s, 80s and 2000s. Seems very possible it will happen again this year. We've been to the tournament in four difference decades (adding the 1976 team.)

Gregg Marshall will be the sixth coach to take WSU to the NCAA tournamnet. Many programs' success has hinged on the long tenure of one coach (UTEP comes to mind).

WSU also made many NITs when NITs really were something, in the 1950s and 60s.

I admit it drives me a bit crazy that at least one of Marshall's teams (maybe two) and at least 1,2 or Turgeon's teams could have/should have made the tournament which would vastly improve the Shockers NCAA history resume.
