  • The Last Time Two MVC teams were ranked at the same time during the regular season

The data below is since the "modern MVC" starting in 1975-76. When I have a chance, I will post a more complete rankings summary, pre and post 1976.

This is from the AP poll.

Incredibly, the last time two MVC teams were in the regular season AP ranking at the same time was January 8, 1982 when Tulsa was #18 and WSU was #16.

At the end of the 2006 tournament, both WSU and Bradley were ranked, (#21 and #24)

In 1982-83 WSU, Tulsa and Ill State were all ranked, but at different times.

In 1983-84, Tulsa and WSU were ranked, but at different times.

The second longerst ranking drought in MVC history since 1976 was from November 18,1997 when Ill State was ranked #24 and then dropped out, until Dec 17. 2002, when CU entered the rankings at #20, peaking at #10 later that year and finishing at #15 at the end of the regular season.

The biggerst ranking drought for the MVC was from March 15, 1988 when Bradley was #11, until Dec 26, 1996, when Tulsa popped in at #25.

In 2003-04 CU and SIU were both ranked, though never at the same time.

In 2006-07, WSU and SIU were both ranked, thought never at the same time. WSU reached #8 and SIU reached #14.
