  • What will our starting lineup look like next year?

    G Demetric William
    G Tekele Cotton?
    F James Anacreon?
    F Jake White
    F/C Carl Hall
    C E. O.

What does our recruiting class have coming in that could contribute?
    Juco players coming in?

Curious as the above line up dosent give us alot unless EO shows the same improvement Stutz got from his big man camp
1/16/2010 on the "Screw at the Q" HCGM... " Ive never seen a foul parade like that...If you would of let me know it was going to be a foul parade I would of brought a different team" .... "dont talk to me about fouls....Ive got to go back and look at some tape... I have some thoughts but I need to look at the tape and then I will have something very strong to say"

We'll do okay next year if they let us play six at the same time. I would sit back and enjoy the next month of basketball if I were you, but FYI, there are several other guys already on the team that will contribute in a big way next year and a fantastic recruiting class.

Sure hate to see Hall stuck at center. Hopefully EO improves greatly in the off season.

As long as everyone gets here as planned and there are no injuries, there are 2 things you should know.

Cleanthony Early, in his best Xavier McDaniel will be stating "I don't know which one it's going to be, but one of you guys is sittin'" upon his arrival. He starts from day 1.

            Ron Baker.

That is all for now. One of, if not the best season in my lifetime is going on and I am not about to miss a second of it.

Joe Mitchell is no slouch. I don't know how he has been in practice, but when he was at Hutchinson CC, he was solid to exceptional.

We are going to be better than the rest of the MVC wants us to be....I think it's called reloading

My guess is; DWill, Hall, Cleanthony Early, Malcolm Armstead, and either EO or White. Likely to see 3 guards a lot, though.

I wouldn't be surprised if VanVleet gets some good playing time in next year as well. Probably won't start, but he'll get the playing time Cotton does this year I would imagine.

DWill, Jake, Hall, Cotton and EO will all play some minutes. Anything else is pure speculation. The million dollar question is what can EO give us? We'll find out next year.

Does it really matter who starts?

Take this years team for example. 7 players play 23 minutes or more. Last years team saw 9 players play at least 15 minutes per game. We are living in a day of college basketball, and primarily at WSU, where there are 8 & 9 player rotations. Who starts is immaterial. With match ups more apart of game strategy than ever before, situational lineups play such a big role in whether you win or lose.

With that said, next years team will look much like this year (many players available)...and maybe not (many new faces). We will be deep, especially at the guard positions. Armstead, Cotton and Van Fleet will log the majority of minutes at the point, with D-Will playing some. D-Will, Baker, Cotton and Wessel will handle the SG position. Then you have Mitchell as a wildcard to play at either position.

The SF position will be very interesting. Many feel Derail Green is a RS candidate. It could be a great fit for Early, but he may be needed more at PF so Hall can play the 5, because EO just can't be trusted to play quality minutes. Also at the 3 Hawkins and Wessel will be solid fits.

The 4 will see a combination of Early, White and Hall. Again Hall will see the lion share of time at the 5.

The 5 will be dominated by Hall, with EO hopefully seeing 8-12 minutes. Uwadiae is universally seen as a RS next season.
