The Shockers are still #1 in this weeks espn MID MAJOR POWER RANKINGS and we have widen the lead over everyone else.
The Shockers rating of 26.1 is 5.6 points higher than anyone else!

Also of note: Two other teams who generated a lot of controversy in our comments section lost in the past week, as well. Creighton fell to Wichita State (not to mention suffering two other losses) after consistently trailing the Shockers in efficiency margin, while Saint Mary's went down to Gonzaga in an upset that looked predictable based on stats.With that said, both teams remain in the top five this week. But the No. 1 team stands on top once again by a wide margin.
Wichita State Shockers (22-4, 13-2)
Can we give the Shockers their due? Any way you want to look at it, they have to be considered the top mid-major in the country. They just mauled Creighton on the road, following a 25-point annihilation of Northern Iowa at home. They beat UNLV by 19 earlier this season, took care of Colorado (9-4 in the Pac-12) and took Temple to overtime before losing by four. Wichita State is ninth in the country in KenPom.com's overall ratings, and ranks ninth in offensive efficiency and 24th on defense. In short, the Shockers have the makings of a team that could make a deep tourney run.
