This is an oddity for me to disagree with you on anything.

It has to be based on where the team is at the beginning of play. Players change, players' experience level changes, coaches can change. Senior leadership or a bunch of newbies? Add to this external situations. Is the league up, down, or normal expectation. Is there anything else that can affect the season (COVID)? The more experienced a team with no changes in coaches, the better they can deal with those external situations.

Great season, but they didn’t ace the final.

Sure it can be an A. You can't grade this team on past success or failures.

This year is its own individual grade. Based on my expectations and how they exceeded them as a whole....for me it is an A.

Next year my expectations could be different and I will grade that season separately from any others.

I won't disparage anyone that grades differently though. Everyone sees the seasons through their own eyes and expectations.

“The rebellion on the populist right against the results of the 2020 election was partly a cynical, knowing effort by political operators and their hype men in the media to steal an election or at least get rich trying. But it was also the tragic consequence of the informational malnourishment so badly afflicting the nation. ... Americans gorge themselves daily on empty informational calories, indulging their sugar fixes of self-affirming half-truths and even outright lies.'

Won the conference. Made the tournament. Lost to Drake in play-in round. B for me.

A from me. Replaced over half the roster, coaching sh!t storm, IB takes over two weeks prior to season, picked seventh. Shox proceed to win the regular season, HCIB named conference coach of the year, TE player of the year, other accolades, make the tourney. Anything beyond that would have been gravy.

I'd say those giving A's had really low expectations this year.

Based on a conference championship and NCAA bid alone I’m not sure how you could give anything but an A or B. Add in COVID, new players, and most of all no Marshall and it’s hard for me to not give an A.

Our non-conference record wasn’t great but then again we were short handed for weeks and still almost beat OSU. We beat an ORU team who is now in the sweet 16 after taking down Ohio State and Florida. We went on the road and beat Ole Miss who got a 1 seed in the NIT.

Obviously the last two games were disappointing but they were one point losses that could have easily gone the other way so it’s not like we were just exposed as frauds.

I think anyone who is unable to at least fathom why others would give an A is putting way too much emphasis on two games.

If you graded this team game by game thru the season, I'd be shocked if anyone would have ended with an A average for this team. Even many of the wins would have been hard to give A's for. The last three games definitely wouldn't have pushed anything towards an A. I understand the B grades and even some of the C grades. This team wasn't impressive in most games during the season. Yes, they won, and that is the goal. But I just see it insanely difficult that you'd end up at an A. This was pretty much a B, C type of team through the majority of the year, despite the wins.

Is this like grading the "show your work" part of the math test and ignoring the results ?

Or those grading low had too high of expectations.

So all wins are an A regardless of how they play? I guess if that's how you grade, an A makes sense.

Personally, I take the whole game into account and not just the final score.
