  • McDermott . . .

McDermott was getting whipped on the defensive end by the Shockers, but I actually felt bad for him when his dad bumped him while screaming at him in the time out (and it appeared he pushed back). ESPN mentioned it - even Frank Martin doesn't do that (of course, he doesn;t have to after "the stare").

Only a sophomore and a good kid, but this is gonna leave a mark . . .

I'm sure we'll still suffer our share of challenges from his abilities in the next couple of years.
If you take the high road, you won't find much traffic there . . .

McDermott is a great player, no doubt. Shocks are really coming together at the most perfect time. I hope it continues.

Doug is really good, but he must work on 2 things if he's to improve. He has to stop bitching to the officials after EVERY non-call and he has to at least be able to play marginal defense.

He's a BAD defender. Not average, but BAD. And worse yet, he goal hangs more than Steve Zungul. The game's played at both ends young man.

He'll be POY in the Valley. But he's nowhere near an All American, 1st team or otherwise, and if you want to argue, tune into the UK vs Vandy game tonight. Think Dougie makes Kentucky's team? We were caps and sleeves at this level son, understood?

If we play Wednesday like we did tonight, it might be a real intervention with one of the opponent's mother - I'm jus sayin'

The Creighton guys, especially Doug, looked tired. Too many minutes to get where they are. One more reason to like the Shockers. Depth and balance, depth and balance.

Whoa. Impressive. But not worse than our very own Jeff Bourne.

Oh my God. I can't believe that photo. What a disaster. I kind of wish that hadn't been caught on film.

I recall some seriously bad arguments between one of my summer coaches and his son. Usually the Coach is pissed at everybody but can only attack his own kid with a little more gusto and thats what happens. I don't think it's that big of a deal, two competitive people, one is the coach another a player, they are blood. Heated exchanges will happen from time to time.

That picture is made more uncomfortable with the familial relationship, but we Shocker fans needn't be reminded of some of the tirades 3G has unleashed on singular members of our team, for all to see. Not exactly Frank Martin worthy, but still.
