Last comment from me on this subject. I guess if the first 15 rows of students that are there all the time got excited that would be ok....bandwagon fans (that I suspect are about to show up in droves from the student section), not so much.

I enjoyed the celebration when Turg cut down the nets. I have no problem reliving that this season, but I understand differing opinions.

Don't get my opinion wrong. The celebration on the court in '06 was one of my favorite memories.

I am in NO WAY suggesting that not happen. But it should happen now as it did then, organized and purposeful. Once on the court, everything should be prepped and ready. Security should all be well informed at what point to let people down, how to let people down, and what do once they get down.

Music should be ready. Perhaps a Charlie Sheen "Winning" clip. And we should start a tradition. I don't know what or how, but a tradition for cutting down the nets. Be it the music playing, a certain type of ladder, etc.

I don't think the issue is Drake or MSU, but rather rushing the court after clinching a MVC title.

Perhaps you've missed the intent of rushing the court. MSU, Good God no. Drake, yes, for reasons not associated with Drake.

How is winning the Valley season outright not worth storming the court?

I think there is an issue with the terminology in this thread. There will be no "storming" or "rushing" the court when we stomp Drake at home. There will be a somewhat orderly filing of fans onto the floor to share in the cutting down of the nets and handing out of championship shirts and hats. This is totally acceptable.

"Rushing the court" conjures images of hundreds of students trampling security as they vault the walls after beating a #1 team. That kind of celebration won't be happening.

We will know Tuesday night if a win over MSU clinches the Valley. It is a long shot (as was us beating Creighton in Omaha by 20+) but Creighton could lose Tuesday night at SIU. If that happens and we beat MSU, I am certain the team will be celebrating. Whether they cut the nets or not, I do not know. In this scenario I would cut them down after MSU, instead of risking doing it after the Drake game. I hate to get ahead of myself and do not mean to jinx the Shox, just pointing out the possibilites.
