Most RPI sites have UNI outside of the top 50 at the moment, which makes us 1-3 vs teams in that range.

WSU fans need to root like crazy for UNI over the next 3 weeks. RPIforecast projects a final RPI of 44 if the Panthers win their last 4 MVC games and their BB game @ VCU. Just one loss adjusts the projection downward to 54.

Ironic that the strength of UNI's finish will certainly and substantially affect our seeding (or at-large hopes if things really go south). Those 2 extra potential top 50 wins would be huge.

Too bad UNI lost to Bradley, if they would have just won that one game, I think their potential top 50 finish would be much much better.

Losing to bradley vs losing to any other team doesn't affect their RPI. The RPI calculations don't take in to consideration who the lose is to. Only whether it was home or away. The actual numbers are considered in aggregate.

I agree with you. But they need one more win to be more solid on the top 50 side, and the easiest game they lost was to Bradley. You take away one of their losses and add one more win, they wouldn't need to win out to stay in the top 50. They would have some cushion.

I could have just as easily said UE or SWOMO but the Bradley game is the one game they definitely SHOULD have won (although they probably should have beaten UE too, since they were at home and had a good lead in the first half). They were up big in the second half against a lousy Bradley team and couldn't hold on to the win.

Having felt the call of Kung Wu . . .

You're saying that losing to a team that is 6-19 has no worse affect on RPI than a team that is, say 16-9?

This is the formula for how a road loss affects your RPI:

                  OppWin% x 1.4 (road factor) x .5 (Opponent)

                  A road loss to Bradley factors 0.24 x 1.4 x .5 = .168

                  A road loss to a 16-9 team like ISU factors .64 x 1.4 x .5 = .448

Although the Win% of each of their opponents ads a 25% component, a loss to 6-19 Bradley affects your RPI almost 3 times worse than it does a loss to 16-9 ISU.
