  • Shockers up to #12 in Jay Bilas' Index

ESPN Insider Jay Bilas has Week 8 of the Bilas Index, and the Kentucky Wildcats remain the No. 1 team in the nation.

And he names Stutz as player of the week:

Bilas' Best -- players of the week (Sunday to Friday)

Performer of the week: Garrett Stutz, Wichita State
Over the past four games, Stutz has been as productive as any big man in America. During that span, Stutz has averaged just less than 25 points and 10 rebounds per game, while shooting 63 percent from the field. Stutz is skilled, has tremendous hands and feel and can post or step away and face the basket. After missing the win against Southern Illinois, Stutz has been on a tear and hasn't scored less than 23 points in a game.

    Creighton at #13

    12. Wichita State Shockers

Garrett Stutz has been as effective and productive as any big man in the country over the past few weeks. Over his past four games, Stutz has averaged almost 25 points per game, including a 25-point, 15-rebound performance against Indiana State.

    13. Creighton Bluejays
Creighton still leads the nation in shooting inside and outside the arc, and it took a buzzer-beating step-back 3-point field goal to beat the Bluejays. Creighton played well enough to win, and will be an at-large selection no matter what.

Jay Bilas has been strong on WSU ever since he say us play in Hawaii last year. We clearly pass his eye test.
