Umm, this team should have pounded Ole Miss. WSU didn’t play smart going down the stretch. They are just better ball players. Not impressed.

In a long ago time and place, as an estwhile mostly unsuccessful hoops coach, the BEST advice I ever got a coaches clinic was from Ken Cochran , formerly of Marymount..... “ NEVER MAN TO MAN OUT OF BOUNDS PLAYS UNDER THE HOOP!!!! If they shoot outside , so be it... nothing in the lane!!!”
And I quote....

Ken Cochran was a great small college coach. Marymount won a ton of games. How many high schools follow his advice? Probably Most, and for good reason.

How many Div. 1 teams follow his advice and zone out of bounds under the basket? I’m not sure I remember the time a last saw a Div. 1 team straight zone it.

Did Bilau suit up for the game?

He played 1 minute in the 1st half and 2 minutes in the 2nd half.

At about the 11:00 minute mark of the 1st half Bilau had the ball twice during on Shocker possession. Each time he had the ball he clearly had happy feet and was shuffling his feet all over the place. How travelling wasn't called in neither of those two instances was quite surprising. In any case he appeared to be quite unsettled.

Wow, what a great way to win the game. Coming back, playing fairly poised (rebounding notwithstanding) and hitting most of our FTs to hold on.

Really a gutsy win, on the road no less. We definitely have some playmakers. We have people who can create off the dribble. Etienne was stellar again and Gilbert carried us when we got down 9. Wade had some good moments, and I thought Udeze had some good minutes also. Just a real feel good win.

2. but 6'8" centers belong in the Valley
3. Etienne works his azz off
4, PG AG has a few too many "look at me" moments
5. Solid game from Trey. That's nice
6. IHC Brown is having fun, and wow is he proud of his boys
7. JoBu has a long way to go
8. I like the new substitution pattern
9. calling time outs is a nice touch as well
10. on to Chicago and let's win there
