As always, now that a BCS team had a big home win, they are NCAA tournament caliber even though they are 15 and 6. Interesting that two of their losses are to Valley teams who haven't been close to ranked all year and that one loss, to Drake, maybe considered borderline bad?

Then there is the discussion about our game last night. Drake should benefit nicely from the Iowa State win over KU and the Air Force win over SDSU.

It all adds up to bcs bs and my belief that a Valley team has to have a nearly perfect record to get an at large invite. I don't think last nights loss was a bad one. I think Drake is a better team than they get credit for being. But now we just have to get mad and kick a$$ the rest of the way.

Nothing we haven't known since Puerto Rico. The margin for error for this season was always going to be razor thin- I think we earned forgiveness for one mediocre loss with the UNLV win and our strong January start. We used it up last night. Now we need to get back to taking care of business.

If we win out from here (except for the CU game), that would land us at 25-5 entering the MVC tournament, a top 25 RPI, and a 2-4 record against the RPI top 50. That would get us safely in the field.

24-6 (with losses at CU and MSU/ISUred/BB) would put us in a much more precarious position. The bubble gets even iffier in that scenario if we still have only 1 top 50 win at that point. I still think 24-6 and an appearance in the finals in St. Louis would be good enough- but it would be a nail-biting Sunday afternoon for sure and we could very well be looking at a play-in slot as a 12 seed or something along those lines.

As always, winning solves everything and we need to do lots of it.

This is just more BcS BS. Iowa State's rpi AFTER beating Ku is #50! They are 2-4 on the road and now are 1-3 against the rpi top 50. They have lost at home to UNI and at Drake. But now they are all but a lock.

The Shockers rpi after losing to Drake is still #30 (twenty places better than Iowa St) We are 6-1 on the road and also 1-3 against the rpi top 50. But now we are "uncertain".

BTW- Our top 50 win was at home against the #9 rpi team by 19 points, there's was against the #7 rpi team also at home probably by a few points (they didn't give the score in the article).
