Cites the article on Marshall earlier, but just proof that WSU is starting to crack the big national media window, not just smaller blogs, or the occasional espn analyst.

First it was ESPN, then CBS, and now NBC jumping on our bandwagon. All this recognition has got to be good for recruiting.

      It most definitely does.

I remember reading an article about June Jones taking over at SMU, I know its football but it's related to recruiting. When he took over, he'd go into kids' homes that lived in Texas, that didn't even know SMU was a college, or that it had a good football tradition. After their bowl games, and his success there, he hasn't ran into a kid that didn't know who SMU was, and it opened lots of doors nationally that he didn't have his first year.

National recognition does pay off, and I think our recruiting class coming in shows that success and national exposure help recruiting classes. If we continue our success this year, next year's class might even be better than this years. Who knows, but I'm really excited the future of the program under Marshall.

              I know I shouldn't....but I cannot stop thinking about a protected seed.

Was encouraged to see us a 6 seed against Memphis and Creten a 3 seed. Then I saw how bad they blew it by including teams like Cincinnati, Virginia, Iowa State, New Mexico, Oregon, and four teams from C-USA. That's the same C-USA that is currently ranked 10th in RPI and 10th in SOS. While we are currently ranked 8th in RPI and 6th in SOS. That's the same C-USA that went 0-6 against the MVC. At best C-USA is a two bid conference. Damn BCS bias.

Maybe I should just stop looking at these things.

While I agree with your sentiments about C-USA and the others, Lunardi from espn also has 4 teams in from the C-USA. When I look at some of those resumes I wonder why UNI is still not in the mix. Their resume matches up very well against some of those teams (not just the extra C-USA teams but teams like Iowa St -which Lunardi also has in was beaten by UNI).

                        Protected by Rawlings? Or Riddel?
