NCAA offers a free ride, games/tournaments all over the globe and media exposure. If you don't want what the NCAA offers, go elsewhere. I fail to see why that's a problem. The FVV and Ron Bakers of the world will still choose college, because they need that exposure to get them paid. The one and dones can take that shoe money in AAU, G-League or Europe.
Couldn’t agree more. People like to blame the NCAA for everything but it falls more on the NFL and NBA in my opinion. Neither have a viable minor league system because they just use the NCAA. Get rid of the one and done rule is a good start. Creating real minor league systems similar to baseball would be another good step. If they are unwilling to do that they should chip in to help pay the college players because they benefit immensely from the NCAA.

      stay relevant shox.
KU would find a home in the B10 or ACC. KSU would not.

I'm not so sure about that. FB is driving realignment - that's where the big money is. There's not much demand for KU FB. It's certainly not going to increase the revenue stream for any conference they're in based on FB. It's going to depend on their TV ratings for BB and how much revenue that might generate for a league.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

KU’s value as an academic institution plus public perception more than makes up for their abysmal football program.

KU as an academic institution? Have you checked their academic standing lately?

Regardless of their peewee football team. They are a massive national brand. If it was all about football, Rutgers wouldn't have been involved in realignment at all. Rutgers is in a market that the B10 felt mattered and KU brings in huge viewership nationally. Yes, football is the biggest sport in realignment but basketball isn't completely irrelevant. If it were, we would still be in the MVC.

Kansas has a problem, the B1G really isn't all that interested in them. Nebraska was a mistake, and KU is further outside the footprint. Without football, being sparsely populated, and only having basketball leaves KU on the outside looking in. Since the realignment saga began, several B1G wish lists have been published from several media outlets within the B1G footprint. One consistency is KU doesn't rank high in any of them. Iowa State actually ranks higher.

A few years ago, understanding the dilemma, KU tried to raise a sh!tload of money to upgrade. I think they raised enough money to get rid of the track inside the stadium and build a basic indoor practice facility. So far, a new or even updated stadium are still outside of KU's grasp. If KU were added to the B1G, they would have the second smallest stadium, worst facilities by far, they would be the least competitive across the board, located in a sparsely populated state. The B1G doesn't need more competition in basketball, they need football. Outside of dans talking in Johnson County (I know several) few people think KU has a great shot at the B1G.
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

The thing about KU football is that even if they were good, I'm not sure how much popularity they would bring or add to the B1G, or any other conference. Nebraska sucks at football now, but they are still a huge draw. They have a very loyal fanbase, so they are still valuable, even when they suck. The KC metro splits with Mizzou for college football, which is very popular as well.

That being said, I would love to see KU left without a chair when it all gets shuffled around, but think that their basketball program being what it is, some conference would love to snatch that up.

The Big 12 missed the boat years ago when they should have been adding programs, but didn't. Now, it does appear that that conference will be the first to dissolve, unless the Big 12 starts raiding the AAC. Which is what they should be doing.

They will buy their way in. That’s how they stole ‘Kansas University’ from ESU, it’s how they stole WSU’s med school, it’s how they recruit big name basketball players. They buy their success plain and simple.

No, don’t do this here. The rule for titty pics is to have a dedicated thread that way people who don’t care to partake can avoid such carnal pleasures. Usually an off topic thread titled something like “Shockernet Titty Bar and Thong Supply” works well.
