MVC Tournament Hotels

Where is everyone staying? Anyone heard of any specials on hotels in the downtown arena area? Thanks in advance for your help!

Im staying in the Pear tree inn down by Union Station, its owned by Drury inn, but its cheaper than drury inn and plus you get free parking and free breakfast.

The hotels don't run specials during Arch Madness. However, if you call the hotels directly and let them know you are in town for Arch Madness, they might have a slightly discounted rate. They do have rooms blocked off for tournament-goers which makes on-line booking look like there are no available rooms.

Does anyone know what hotel the team is staying at? What hotels in the area are good to call? I called the Pear Tree and they were sold out already.

The team is usually at the Westin - expensive. I got a room at the Courtyard Marriot - $144 includes breakfast and parking.

We got rooms at the Union Station Marriott for about the same price. Had to ask for the Arch Madness rates.

Drury Inn. It is convenient. Not a bad value for the money.

Yes, this is correct, yet again. The Westin is very nice, decent bar, good eats, team is there (nothing replaces chatting with the coaches and team) and it's a short walk to the Arena. But it is very pricey.

The Drury is a good, inexpensive option. If you wait, sometimes you can get decent prices at one of the casinos...they know how to market and are good at it. If they are empty, good rates will happen, but it's all going to be last minute on that weekend. I stayed across the river once (River Queen maybe?) ...very acceptable and maybe a $79 rate but I made the reservation Monday before.

Nice bonus was taking the train right to the Arena. Essentially door to door. I suggest making a reservation now, then see what comes up last minute. You can always cancel, just check to make sure they aren't going to ding you...you should be good anytime up to 1 day before arrival, but double check first.

Don't know St. Louis very well. Is the Drury close to Union Station or a train station pick up? It'd be nice to have convenience with a lower price.

There are two Drury's downtown. The one I have stayed at is right behind Union Station and nice. Smaller rooms as it is an older hotel, but free parking and manager's reception with beer and wine. The other Drury I believe is by the Arch and would be a walk to get there, but should have a Metrolink stop somewere close.

I just booked a room at the Millenium, $118 + $18 for parking. That was the Arch Madness special. I have stayed at the Pear Tree, Holiday Inn Express (next to the dome) and also have stayed out on I-70 on the edge of town and drove in, all are suitable. I am okay with walking a mile or so to whatever it is I want to do, but for those who would rather park near union station (I belive its like $10 a day or something) you can find value in staying away from down town.
