CBS : MVC looking like a 4 bid league

Further support for the UNIs: the Andy Glockner NCAA projection cited elsewhere appears to have UNI as the MVC tournament winner / automatic bid, with WSU and Creighton at large. Yes, I know their RPI is way up there right now, but that won't last forever, and I'll have to see UNI win in St Louis to believe it.

I had credibility issues with the article when it named Echenique a first-team Valley selection. I've watched 3 CU games so far and I don't see Echenique as one of the top 10 or 15 players in the league. The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

Granted, Stutz has rebounded much better than in the past, but I think most figured Hall would have a greater impact on the glass than he has. So I think it was a fair statement to be made. He's had games where he almost seems to disappear on misses. There are nights when I think that Sal Paradise was right.

Defensive rebounding is a team effort ang HCGM gets a team effort in that department. Everyone boxes their man and the Shockers get the ball. Carl gets the ones thay carrum towards him. Offensive rebounding is an individual effort and that is why Smith and Hall tend to get more than their share of offensive boards.Livin the dream

It doesn't surprise the love given to Etchinique. I don't know why the media guys do it. I know he's not a 1st-team MVC and he didn't play that well with the Venezuelan National team this summer.
He's probably a real nice guy, a hard worker, but I can think of a lot of MVC forwards that are better than he is. Carl Hall will eat him up when they play.
Some sportswriter has either picked up on some other sportswriter's exaggeration regarding Mr. Etchineque or its the same guy. I have seen it occasionally, so I think it's just one guy.........

Keep in mind we have a lot of guys pulling down defensive rebounds, so we haven't needed CH to get that many defensive rebounds. God help the opposition if he grabs as many as we expect (and the rest of our guys continue to get theirs).Kansas is Flat. The Earth is Not!!

UNI losing by 10 at Illinois St tonight with less than 8 minutes left in the game.
This loss would be worse than the two last night because it would be to one of the 4 bottom feeders. It would however be offset somewhat because it is on the road.
Still not good for the Valley's chances of getting multiple bids.

Since we don't have a "Games of Interest" thread, I'll post this here:
One of the 3 top home teams for BBs laid an egg tonight. Iona lost to rpi 200+ Hofstra 83-75.
Alabama finally has finally taken the lead at home against 2-9 Jacksonville 34-30 in the 1st with 2:50 to go.
