We could definitely hit the century mark again against SIU. Not against it, would love to make another trip to Sports Time Fan Shop.

This second half is almost painful to watch. KSU came out flat and SIU came out as SIU.

I want to de-annex SIU out of the conference right now. They will hurt every conference teams rpi. Even if we could somehow just play them once and cut the bad hit in half.

It will be like playing Chicago State 2 more times this season.

Its like playing Chicago State... minus four starters.

After his S16 (with the last of Painter's recruits) Lowery had the best recruiting class in SIU's history. Unfortunately, Lowery was on the wrong side of his recruiting. He went for the top recruits he could get and ignored how he was going to coach them once they got to SIU.

Lowery ended up with a bunch of offensive-minded prima donnas who never bought into his theory of playing D. They hated the total lack of emphasis on scoring and none of Lowery's top-20 national recruiting class made it to their Sr year.

Lowery already had a track record of losing players before that class left. As a result, Lowery kept finding himself with 7 or so scholarship players every April. Lowery ended up taking whatever JuCo players were available in April who would play for a coach who had lost about half of his recruits during his coaching career.

Once they get rid of Lowery I think SIU still has enough dormant support that they'll claw their way back to relevance within 3-4 years. Their AD's primary focus this year ought to be having the cheerleaders hold donation buckets labelled "Lowery Buyout Fund" as fans leave the arena.

Remind me again why they haven't gotten rid of him sooner? Usually Im against firing coaches prematurely but after firing KC's Haley and Kansas new football coach it reminds me the energy a new coach can bring to an organization.

SIU tied with Clemson with about 12:00 minutes left in the game.
