Will There Be a 2020-2021 Season?

I've run into one epidemiologist who says there could be a virus killer med out within 4 months. He's got a good track record, but he's the only one that optimistic. Others are saying the virus will continue until either so much of the population has had it and developed immunity to shut it down or until a vaccine is developed. The predictions for the vaccine to be available are some time between December, 2020 and June, 2021.

It's going to take some good news that's difficult to expect now for there to be a 2020-2021 basketball schedule.

I think that we will feel the effects of this, to varying degrees, for a long time. How long, I don’t know but I would guess more than a couple of years and even after a vaccine is created.

Thats not to say life won’t return to relative normal at some point, maybe even this year. Hopefully everything we’re doing now will prevent the system from falling apart and we can give ourselves time to prepare and plan for the next steps instead of playing catch up on the fly.

I imagine the ability to test as many people as possible would also be beneficial because among other reasons, in theory, if you’ve had it you should be able to move freely without as much fear of infection or transmission.

I think basketball happens in some way shape or form this year but it’s far from a sure thing right now, IMO.

I have no ****ing clue though and am just hoping out my ass.
