AAC could pass a mandate concerning the scheduling of non-conference teams.

    20 game conference
    multiple team qualifier
    1 game +300
    1 game +200
    5 games <150 or P6+BE

So I assume this is based on their NET ranking at the time you schedule them.

Jankovic would have to go back to the Valley.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

Yes. That is fair enough. Schedule someone projected to drop if you want more soft games.

It's not always easy to know what a team will be like 2 or 3 years down the road in many cases. Lambo who is notorious for trying to schedule in a way to give his team the best shot at a high RPI in volleyball has said that a number of times. The scheduling is often done far enough in advance that you really don't know for sure what your will betting. Obviously, the perennial powers should be pretty good but scheduling them is really tough. Some of the perennial powers who scheduled the Shockers in volleyball got bit by that a bit the last two years as they turned out to be down years for the Shocks.

That’s why I included an out with high profile conferences. WSU’s B12 matchups are always Q1/2. Basically, this is saying “schedule your instate rivalries but make sure the rest are high profile.”

The AAC needs to have standards starting somewhere.

Indeed. But perhaps the key is what are the carrots and the sticks to incentivize the actions you want.

How about using non-conference SOS (by whatever service the AAC chooses to use) to determine tiebreakers for the AAC Post-Season Tournament.

Here are the non-conference SOS rankings fot the AAC teams this past season per WarrenNolan.com. Teams listed in order of their Tournament Seeding.

                1. Cincinnati - 22
                2. Houston - 158
                3. Tulsa - 331
                4. Wichita State - 118
                5. UConn - 154
                6. Memphis - 146
                7. SMU - 306
                8. UCF - 183
                9. USF - 196
                10.Temple - 86
                11. ECU - 336
                12. Tulane - 264

The only difference it would have made last seaaszon is Memphis would be the 5 seed and UConn the 6 seed. With the way the Tournament bracket is set this would have the biggest impact on a 3-way tie for 3rd and a 2-way or more tie for 4th where the 1st round bye was on the line.

Maybe use some combination of Non-Con SOS and NET ranking to break ties.

You're not alone. There are pockets of economic activity. I talked to someone the other day (they manufacture cleaners and sanitizers) and he said first thing he's going to do when the restuarants open back up is dress up, and go out for the biggest steak dinner he can find.

Have no fear, with him at the healm they should win them all in a very nice and successful manner, all the way down to the press conference. #winning
