  • March 24, 2019 - #6-seed Wichita State vs #2-seed Clemson
    Wichita State continues to apply its famous bracket-busting skills to the NIT. Jaime Echenique scored a game-high 18 points, and the sixth-seeded Shockers held off No. 2 Clemson, 63-55, Sunday afternoon to advance to the quarterfinals. WSU (21-14) never trailed but watched the Tigers trim a 13-point lead to three in the final minute. Samajae Haynes-Jones delivered the biggest shot of the game -- a step-back three with 30 seconds to play that extended a 58-55 lead to 61-55. Echenique hit 7-of-8 shots, including 2-of-3 from distance, and added three steals. Haynes-Jones recorded his second double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. The latter matched his career-high.

    • March 26, 2019- #6-seed Wichita State vs #1-seed Indiana
      Markis McDuffie scored 21 points, and Wichita State knocked off Indiana, 73-63, Tuesday night at Assembly Hall to earn a trip to the NIT semifinals in New York. WSU (22-14) is the first team in NIT history to reach Madison Square Garden with wins over each of the top-three seeds in its region. The win at No. 1 Indiana was preceded by road victories at No. 3 Furman and No. 2 Clemson.

      • April 2, 2019 - #6 Wichita State vs #5 Lipscomb - NIT FINAL FOUR
        Lipscomb ended the game on a 14-0 run to knock Wichita State out of the NIT with a 71-64 win in the semifinals. Dexter Dennis led the Shockers with 13 points, while Markis McDuffie had 12 points and seven rebounds and Samajae Haynes-Jones finished with 11 points and eight rebounds.

        • I see a little bashing of Mike Kennedy in several threads. Remember he is the voice of the shockers. With that part of his job is to put best light on the shockers. It's what he paid to do.
          But that aside, you all have no idea how fortunate you are to have him calling shocker games. I truly believe he is better than any here in Texas and probably one of the tops in the country.
          Listening to him really brings back the memories of the cheese Johnson era for me.
          Before MK, we has to listen to Gus Hereby where someone was always "in the ice box".
          Kennedy is a gem!

              2019 Wichita State Men's Basketball Intro Video


              The American Athletic Conference coaches expect an improved Wichita State squad to finish near the top of the 2020 men's basketball standings. The Shockers were picked fourth out of 12 teams in the preseason poll.

              • November 26 & 27, 2019 - CANCUN CHALLENGE

                The 5-0 Shockers traveled to Mexico to take part in the Cancun Challenge. They'll face South Carolina (4-1) in Tuesday's semifinal and meet up with either Northern Iowa (6-0) or West Virginia (4-0) in the next round.

                November 27, 2019 - South Carolina vs Wichita State
                WSU (6-0) scored the last 12 points of the first half to take a 41-22 advantage and led by as many as 25 points down the stretch.The Shockers' 6-0 start is their best since the 2013-14 season when they became the first 35-0 team in NCAA history.



                November 27, 2019 - West Virginia vs Wichita State
                WSU (6-1) trailed by three at halftime but struggled inside against the aptly-named West Virginia Mountaineers' size and strength. The Shockers finished the game shooting just 30.6 percent from the field and were out-rebounded 48-31. West Virginia (6-0) pulled away in the second half to win the battle of unbeatens 63-75.

                • December 8, 2019 - Wichita State at #25 Oklahoma State
                  Freshman Tyson Etienne scored a game-high 19 points and Wichita State pulled away in the second half for its seventh-consecutive road win, 80-61, over #25 Oklahoma State on Sunday afternoon at Gallagher-Iba Arena. The Shockers (8-1) opened the second half by making 14 of their first 17 attempts and pushed a seven-point halftime lead to 29. Prior to 2017, WSU had won just two times in 17 visits to Stillwater. With Sunday's victory, Gregg Marshall improved to 2-0 at Gallagher-Iba. It was the latest was the most lopsided Shocker win in a series that dates back to 1934.

                  • December 14, 2019 - Oklahoma vs Wichita State at INTRUST Arena
                    A 12-0 second-half run lifted Wichita State to an 80-75 victory over Oklahoma on Saturday evening at INTRUST Bank Arena. Trey Wade finished with 11 points and 15 rebounds – most by a Shocker since Feb. 22, 2015 when Ron Baker snagged 15 boards in a win over Evansville. The Shockers trailed by four at the intermission and by eight at the 11:25-mark of the second half but countered with 12-straight points. Tyson Etienne's three put the Shockers in front to stay, 67-66 at the 2:31-mark. Wade scored on a putback, and the Shockers protected their lead by hitting 11-of-12 free throws over the final 67 seconds of the game. WSU shot a season-best 90 percent from the foul line (18-of-20).

                    • December 21, 2019 - #25 VCU at Wichita State
                      Jaime Echenique scored 14-points each and (rv/rv) Wichita State rode a fast start to a 73-63 win over (rv/25) VCU on Saturday afternoon at a sold-out Charles Koch Arena. WSU (10-1) knocked off its second USA Today Coaches Poll Top-25 opponent in three weeks, having previously upset No. 25 Oklahoma State in Stillwater on Dec. 8. The Shockers won their 10th-straight at home and ended VCU's seven-game road winning streak (tied for the nation's second-longest coming into the day)

                      • January 4, 2010 - Ole Miss at #24 Wichita State
                        Wichita State (13-1) held Ole Miss (9-4) to 30.8 percent from the field (4-of-18 from distance) and outscored them 20-1 off of turnovers. Six different Shockers grabbed at least five rebounds, as WSU won the battle of the boards 38-30. The Shockers held the Rebels without a field goal for a stretch of over eight minutes midway through the first half. Stevenson drilled two threes and a pair of free throws to key a 15-2 run that stretched a 14-13 Shocker lead to 29-15 with just under five minutes to go. The Shockers have won seven-straight.

                        • January 9, 2020 - #21 Memphis at #23 Wichita State - BLACKOUT
                          No. 23/23 Wichita State won 76-67 in their American Athletic Conference victory over No. 21/22 Memphis, Thursday night in just the sixth head-to-head matchup between AP top-25 teams in Charles Koch Arena's 65-year history. The Shockers (14-1, 2-0 American) extended their winning streak to eight games and kept pace with Houston and SMU (both 2-0) as the league's only remaining unbeatens. Memphis (12-3) fell to 1-1 in conference play. The Shockers improved to 3-0 this year against top-25 teams from the USA Today Coaches Poll, having previously beaten No. 25 Oklahoma State and No. 25 VCU. The victory was Wichita State's first over an AP nationally-ranked team since winning at No. 5 Cincinnati on Feb. 18, 2018.

                            No. 23/23 Wichita State let a nine-point lead slip away in the final minute of regulation but regrouped to beat UConn in double-overtime, 89-86, on Sunday afternoon at the XL Center. Jaime Echenique scored 19 points and grabbed a team-high eight rebounds for Wichita State (15-1, 3-0), which won its ninth-straight game and now sits alone in first place as the American Athletic Conference's lone unbeaten. The Shockers will take the nation's second-longest true road winning streak (8) to Temple next.

                              • February 27, 2020 - Temple at Wichita State
                                Trey Wade scored a season-high 21 points and Wichita State came from behind late to defeat Temple, 72-69, Thursday night at Charles Koch Arena. The Shockers (21-7, 9-6 American) erased a seven-point deficit in the last 4:00. Wade hit a three, Tyson Etienne converted a layup and Jamarius Burton followed with six-straight points in an 11-1 run that turned the tide. Wade went 4-of-5 from distance and dunked three times on his way to 21 points and seven rebounds. Jaime Echenique added 14 points and matched his career-high with 13 rebounds to claim his sixth double-double of the year.
