  • MVC Overseas Trips vs. Non Overseas MVC Teams

Don't forget that the MVC had five teams who played overseas. I think it has produced positive results.

    Northern Iowa 5 and 0 3
    Creighton 4 and 0 25
    Wichita State 3 and 2 49
    Drake 1 and 3 74
    Illinois State 2 and 2 255
    Average 81
    Team Wins and Losses RPI
    Southern Illinois - na - 342
    Evansville - na - 246
    Bradley - na - 113
    Missouri State - na - 79
    Indiana State - na - 33
    Average 163

This. No overseas trip was gonna make SIU suck less or make Creighton, WSU, and UNI any more likely to be the best 3 teams in the conference.

I think it comes down to the fact that the universities that sent their teams on trips, take their programs more seriously, and if not more seriously, they're in a better situation financially to send their teams abroad. Based on that opinion, you can deduce from there that these universities would do other things to help their programs succeed, and it would point to their success so far. For example, look at MSU's financial situation, it's not the best. No way would they spend money on an overseas trip before they'd spend it on say locker rooms.

Agreed, however, somebody better tell Illinois St to start taking the rest of their scheduling seriously , too.
