Beating the Shox would be a nice feather in their cap and losing to us wouldn't be a deal breaker if they slip up later

Todays (01/27/12) Bracketbuster Games of Note:
*Iona (RPI #56) at Fairfield (RPI #141)
Loyola-Maryland (RPI #84) at Niagara (RPI #196)
Manhattan (RPI #119) at Canisius (RPI #334)
Commentary - *=Key Games
Best game of the evening is the Iona (RPI #56) at Fairfield (RPI #141) contest. The Gaels of Iona must win tonight against the Fairfield Stags to have a chance to keep up with the leader pack after their bad, bad, bad loss the other night.Last edited by WuShock Reaper; January 27, 2012, 09:04 PM.

Last Weekend for the MVC to impress the ESPN Bracketbuster Selection Committee for the coveted TV games. Here our my pre-selection matchups. These are just my initial thoughts and I reserve the balance of my time, as well as reserve the right to amend and or extend my remarks.
Creighton (RPI #13) - They are in regardless of a win or loss against Bradley. Win and they are likely to get Saint Mary’s College. Lose and they are likely to get Long Beach State.
Wichita State (RPI #25) - They are in regardless of a win or loss against Drake. Win and they are likely to get the ONLY REMAINING UNDEFEATED TEAM IN AMERICA “THE MURRAY STATE SHOCKERS”, oops I mean Racers. Lose and they are likely to get Oral Roberts, Davidson, or Iona.
Northern Iowa (RPI #54) - The winner of the game between UNI and Missouri State gets in and the loser gets left out. It would be better for WSU for UNI to win. If UNI wins, they are likely to get Iona, Cleveland State, or South Dakota State.
Missouri State (RPI #85) - The winner of the game between UNI and Missouri State gets in, the loser gets left out. It would be better for WSU for UNI to win. If MSU wins they will get a visit from either Drexel or Buffalo.
Drake (RPI #108) - Drake must win to get a ESPN TV game against our beloved Shockers tomorrow. If they do, they are likely to face Loyola-Marymount, Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Kent State, or Butler. I am pulling for the Butler and it will be the Bulldogs versus the Bulldogs and someone’s dog would be winning.
Illinois State (RPI #114) - has a decent shot to make the ESPN TV games but they must beat Southern Illinois and just get a couple of other teams ahead of them to lose and heck they might not even need that to happen to make the final cut. If they win they are likely to face one of four teams: Lamar, College Of Charleston, Old Dominion, or Oakland.
Indiana State (RPI #124) - Indiana State has to win against Evansville to get a ESPN TV game and a lot of teams ahead of them have to lose as well. If they win they are likely to face Kent State, Butler, Manhattan, or Montana.
Evansville (RPI #142) - Even with a win tomorrow against Indiana State they are just too far in the pecking-order to get an ESPN TV game. Therefore they are likely to face Western Michigan or Youngstown State.
Bradley (RPI #211) - It doesn’t matter win or lose no TV game. Sorry!!! Also, they are likely to face either Wright State or Eastern Michigan.
Southern Illinois (RPI #229) - It doesn’t matter win or lose no TV game. Better luck next year with your new coach. Also, they are likely to face either UMKC or Ball State. P.S. Coach Marshall was still taunting Coach Lowery at Charles Koch Arena this afternoon, “Who’s your daddy?”Last edited by WuShock Reaper; January 27, 2012, 06:39 PM.

SWOMO should be a lock for one of the 13 national broadcasts whether they win or lose. Because UNI is #54, SWOMOs RPI won't drop a lot even if the lose.
UNI should definitely be a lock for a BB national broadcast. With a rpi of 54 even with a loss they will easily be in the top 26 teams.
The Valley should have 5 or 6 national broadcast games or we are being cheated. Our conference rpi is far stronger than any other conference in this event. Remember the WCC (which is actually well behind the Valley at #11, but the next closest conference) only has 2 teams in this event (St. Mary's and Loyola-Marymount).
The next closest conference is the WAC (#12). And the Valley rpi (.5430) is actually closer to the Big 10 (the #1 conference) then the WAC (.4960) is to the Valley. So there is a lot of disparity between the Valley and all the other conferences in this event.

By happen stance, Andy Katz is doing the Color Commentary for the Iona at Fairfield game. Its halftime now and right before they went to the half he said he would be discussing his pairings for the ESPN Bracketbuster TV games. Not sure when they will actually discuss his picks, but here is the link if interested:
link 2 works best for me.Last edited by WuShock Reaper; January 27, 2012, 08:00 PM.
