I read this term somewhere, maybe a USU link, in reference to WSU players.
    Evidently not all agree: http://kenpom.com/
Interesting site with lots of numbers to digest and we are not far behind last season's final number.

Is it possible to move up when we don't play any of the teams ahead of us?

Just curious, Cap -- why would that matter?

You confuse yourself when you look at the rank. What really matters is the various ratings, and they're all based on what the Shocks do in the games they actually play. The rank is just the result of how everyone's ratings shake out. It's like the RPI -- people say that WSU's RPI (Warren Nolan) is 38, but it really isn't. That's their rank. The RPI is .6167, and that's what you need to watch from one game to the next to see whether it goes up or down. The rank is just a byproduct of how the ratings compare to everyone else's.

Well we are 38 in the overall Sagarin ranking, but 17 in the predictor sub-ranking, which is the most accurate measure of future success.
