Maybe worth some examination. Off the top of my head I think Gene Wiley, Nate Bowman, Terry Benton, Bob Elmore, Garrett Stutz, Paul Miller, and Shaq Morris come to mind. Who else should be on the list?
Were Cliff Levingston and Sash Radunavich centers or forwards. I view them more as power forwards.Last edited by 1972Shocker; February 28, 2020, 08:08 AM.

Either ES got the word to foul him before he gets to half court and the coaches didn't tell the team what to do if JB makes both or he misunderstood or didn't hear what happens if he makes both. It didn't look like the team or the coaches were crazy upset like he made a big mistake.
Im not a coach or even claim to be, but if i were, and I'm up 4 with 3 seconds left and the other team has to go 94' to score, i tell my team to not even get close to them. After the second free throw is made, just run down the court with them and let them jack up whatever they want. Worst thing that can happen is you win by 1 instead of 4.
Or ES just made a bonehead play.
Or GGG made a bonehead call.
Being at the game as soon as this happened I looked at the bench... GGG clearly pointed to himself the same as a player would when they make a mistake. He looked right at ES and with both hands acknowledged that it was on him. Which, I applaud him for that. However...... HOW THE HECK DO YOU SCREW THAT UP!?!?!?!?! You are paid & your assistants are paid for exactly this situation, know the time and score!
I guess its my fault though, I've been begging for him to coach his players, to help them out. I saw him coach up Noah during a FT attempt (in a good, positive way) and he clearly had a discussion with ES about the end game situation and make a coaches decision. Got the must have win, somehow, but I'll take it.

it’s tough to rank because most of these guys only had 1 really good year and were frustrating as underclassmen, so really only comparing senior year for each guy. Hall was not a true center but he did play as an undersized post, same with Durley. Stutz and Jaime are very similar good and bad.

I will accept youth as an explanation to some of last night. Its the only time I have been willing to accept it though. For 3-4min stretches, man the guys played some really nice basketball. Yes there were some fortuitous bounces, but when this team makes it a point to get out and run and really tries to look for each other, the assists pile up and they play some good ball. But as soon as you think they've turned the corner they come down and get in the air with nowhere to go (JB) or take a bad jumper (ES) or quit passing out of the double team and try to take it through a triple team (JE). The highs were high last night, and the lows were.... head scratching.
They made the plays down the stretch though. JB is a gamer. Yes he has his flaws, but the kid just plays his tail off. Proud of the kid for that, proud of the effort when it had to be there. Really like Noah and coach seems to know he can't expose him too much but has done a nice job using him for a spark. And probably the best thing I saw all night (maybe all season) was the 3min stretch that Ech was passing out of the double team every time to a wide open shooter. Which he followed up with a misread and threw it right to a defender trying to hit Wade on a cut, but man, if he will consistently take his time and pass out of those.....it changes the entire dynamic of the offense.-Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind-

Coaches, players and yes officials have to know score, time and situation at all times. Just zero excuse for that to happen.
TW and in crunch time JB saved the night, but they were also very fortunate to have some things go their way.
Case in point - on JB's game winner drive, DD committed an absolute illegal screen on JBs defender. It was obvious and fortunately, Stephens didn't blow his whistle for once. I saw it when it happened and was big time surprised it wasn't called.
JE could learn a thing or two from TW about going to the rim strong. TW didn't mess around with lay ins or tips. He just went strong and dunked the damn ball at every opportunity.
ES did take some really bad shots last night, but he sure plays hard and doesn't quit after a mistake. He also has a rebounders mentality when snaring them. That type of effort will always get you on the floor for HCGM, despite some of the miscues.
It has already been said mucho times, but Sunday @ SMU is huge. Like really, really huge!
That is all.Above all, make the right call.
