BatWu does suck, the Noise Meter needs to be shown more and there needs to be some sort of bass level in the intro music... what are we doing right for this team?

Just going to point out the irony of your statement about using cartoon characters being juvenile and stupid, but ask for a comic book character to come back. Of which, Batman is a comic book character as well.

I see where you're coming from, but that argument is kind of a head scratcher.

Not a head scratcher at all. Some characters work -- some don't. Last year didn't seem so comedic -- this year it's just ridiculous. I don't mind animation, but some things don't work and this year's video is one of them.

I like the "walk down memory lane" with the valley titles, sweet 16, final four and the NIT title. We had all that last year (except for the NIT title) and I liked it then. What I hated last year was the music. You could get no beat going with it. The same this year. What's with the intro music. Surely someone can find music that gets the masses excited.

I agree about the intro music. They played the stupid Bat Wu video. Then the team runs out to the fight song. As soon as the fight song is over, they play a song. And then, at the 1 minute mark, it changes to another song. Seriously, let's stick with one song with a good beat that the crowd can get into!!!

Actually I will say that I know people in charge read this. That's not something that I'm embellishing either, I've talked to people in charge of certain aspects of what people complain about. They read these threads.

New Intro Video

Each time I watch BatWu it gets worse, and it is not motivating at all! I think everyone needs to email or message the athletic department and let them know we want something less childish and more about maybe basketball and the team!! Especially since Creighton comes to town next and they have a week and a half to make something better. We know the arena will be packed and ready to rumble now all we need is something really motivating as they come out of the locker room. I like the bring em out they play right before BatWu as long as they don't play it 4min before they come out of the locker room.The video before the introductions is really good, why can't they have something similar to that? Also I think it would be better if they played music after they come out of the tunnel instead of the band like they use to do. We are the ones paying, I think they will listen if enough share our opinions.

you would think something like this would be tested out before it's put out there. Other than the creators who were all probably high fiving each other with their awesome animation work, I can't imagine anyone really thinking it would be an effective tool to get the team and the crowd pumped up before the game.

shock4life, I couldn't agree more. I'm with you, I really like the way they do the "Bring Em Out" song and show the team coming out of the lockerroom. Last night, they started that song at the 6 minute 30 second mark on the clock before the game. I said to my wife, "wow, Marshall must not have much to say tonight...". She turned to me and said, "knowing the game ops department, they will probably play the song until the 3 minute mark when the team actually comes out of the lockerroom..." And she was EXACTLY right!!!! They played that song for 3+ minutes before they finally showed the team coming down the hall way. Are you kidding me?? Who is in charge of this?? It's UNBELIEVABLE!!!! And PLEASE Athletic Department, I plead with you along with the other posters, PLEASE change the BatWU video before conference season begins. We are going to have a HUGE game on December 31 and the BatWU video is an embarrassment to this team and this university. Please make a change over the next 10 days. We (the team and fans) deserve it!!!! I know people don't like talking about those other state schools on here, but I went to the game at Intrust between the purple and Huggiebear just to check everything out. The Purple Game Ops department understands how to do things. They have a great video for the team before they run out of the tunnel. It gets the crowd pumped up and the arena was full of energy. BatWU has the OPPOSITE AFFECT!!!!!

Easy solution. Go back to tradition.

1. The cheerleaders starts the crowd clapping.
2. The band plays "Shocker Fight" as the team takes the floor.
3. Intros (The band used to play here also
4. Dudley and tip off.
