It was nice to see the return of Shocker basketball tonight. Our offense actually was fluid and we looked to PASS before we looked to shoot. It was awesome to watch. 20 assists? Please let this team watch this game film for the next week. Assists = wins. Plain and simple.

And Dex is back, which is awesome. We lose without his effort tonight.

All that said, free throw shooting will prevent us from being elite unfortunately and will also not allow a deep run in March. That's just something you don't fix through the course of the season. You are what you are and we just aren't a good free throw shooting team. Sucks.

Better shot selection helps. And the derivative of that is we were passing the ball to the person in the best position for the scoring which equaled a large assist total.

Let's hope. Allowing 51 2nd half points to an awful offensive team -196 Offensive Efficiency (Kenpom)- isn't a good thing.

MK mentioned it on the postgame show. It's not always that reliable when trying to determine how a player did for the game.

AM, in the 2 minutes, 46 seconds that he was in the game, had a +4.

I agree shot selection and passing was better. We seemed to be looking for Dex who had the hot hand. Believed we were 38% from 3. Agree with Fev, free throw shooting is going to bite us. We need to get the right people at the line but that isn’t always possible. Did better in the second half from the line hopefully that will carryover.

What a weird game. At least they managed to call 1 of the 4 flagrant fouls at the end. Somebody got hurt and I was going down there.

When Dexter Dennis is being Dexter Dennis, he's my favorite player to watch play basketball since Tekele Cotton.

Sometimes weird stuff happens. They were getting destroyed, Smith was essentially a no-show, so they went 5-out and a dude who was career 1-6 from 3 goes 4-8. I guess you could say we could make adjustments to that, but you could also say they never really caught up either.

Did that guy travel twice around that double-dribble, or 3 times? Not sure how it's possible none of the 3 striped guys saw that one.
