Obviously the writer of the article was looking for someone to interview that would complain about the state of WSU athletics. Who cares if some students want to tailgate (excuse to drink) on a Saturday afternoon? I saw the entire student section filled an hour before game time today. That's where the real students are.

Pretending that football makes no difference is just willfully ignorant. It completely changes the atmosphere of a campus and can single-handedly create weekend life. You think any of these conference realignments are driven by basketball? But I do agree that student involvement is far better now than 15-20 years ago. But it makes me think it could go to the next level with a renewed football program.
