It makes sense considering they already play each other. That's why Maui takes 1 from each BcS conference and one from another.

Like Sub indicated, achieving consistency is absolutely necessary for us to be able to attrack good opponents. At the present time, it makes little sense for any top tier or near top tier school to schedule us for a game at Koch. Let's face it, we can't offer enough money to attrack them and for the most part they have everything to lose and little to gain.
I strongly believe we are headed in the right direction. But, until our program becomes consistent (top 25 rankings year-in-and-year out, plus frequent participation in the NCAA tournament, the quality of the schools we can attract will remain basically the same as we've seen over the last several years.
Our home court reputation also probably hurts us in scheduling as well. Yes, we are very proud of the fact that we have a reputation concerning how hard it is to win here and how loud our fans are. By no means am I am not knocking this, but it very possibly is one of the reasons why we have such difficulty in obtaining home and home series.
In the long run, it may simply boil down to what others feel they have to gain versus what they have to lose and how difficult is it going to be for them to beat us on our home court? Notice Florida State has never returned and likely never will.

It would essentially be two non-con neutral site games for all three D-1 Kansas schools. The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off.

Looks like all the doom n' gloom never came to fruition. It also looks like those who oppose games in IBA and those who refuse to set foot in that place are in the very distant minority when it comes to the university and coach's desires. I'm also glad to see that the promoter was happy and hopefully better situations emerge in the future for the game. A lot of good ideas have been passed around here as well.
Love the thread title, Doc!Last edited by ShockerFever; November 30, 2011, 10:26 PM.Deuces Valley.

You should've seen the looks on their faces when the ushers and I brought down 70 chicken strip baskets from the concession stands! Priceless and rewarding for them and me both.
Glad to hear that the game was a success for other people as well. Can't wait for next years game!Deuces Valley.

I think the $10,000 worth of chicken strips went to a good cause.
Now that this game has come and gone, I hope we can move on from our differences and kumbayah as Shocker fans.Deuces Valley.
