I'm not sure I'm making much sense, so let me say it a different way. Instead of playing a Koch game against Chicago State, we decide to accept a promoter's offer to bring Kentucky to IBA, with the stipulation that we play Kentucky next year at Rupp. Would the guarantee offset both the lost revenue from the Chicago State game this year and a home game next year against some other cream puff? I have no idea what the revenue each game at Koch generates for WSU, and obviously this scenario is dependent on how much the guarantee is.
I wasn't concerned about losing a home game to IBA. The type of marquee game they'd like to have to have at IBA would probably require a return game, plus, if alternating that away game with another "home" IBA game, along with road requirements of BB and a conference challenge, would mean fewer games at Koch.

By the way, I'm not opposed to this.

If it means better competition and games, I'm not opposed either. It's the best way to push this program farther.

I too had a great time at the IBA game. I spent a little more than I was hoping (around $10,000) but I purchased great seats for a group of about 70 inner city children who would not have otherwise had a chance to see the game. You should've seen the looks on their faces when the ushers and I brought down 70 chicken strip baskets from the concession stands! Priceless and rewarding for them and me both.

Glad to hear that the game was a success for other people as well. Can't wait for next years game!

Gonna go out on a limb and say children that live in the inner city.

Well considering 70 chicken strip baskets costs $10,000 alone, I'm going to have to call BS on that one!

I would call it BS too if someone spent $142.86 on each chicken strip. But I think you need to go back and check your math!!!

You're right. I pretty such IBA doesn't charge a cent less than $200 for the chicken strips. $142.86 is hotdog territory.

I took MM's comment as a tongue-in-cheek jab at the generally high cost of concessions at IBA (not that this is unique to IBA).

If you have been to the Mo Valley tournament in St. Louis IBA is very reasonable for what they charge in comparison. I have never purchased a $8.00 beer but I know the moose has.

Sort of a tourney but not really.
I think this is a great idea. However, someone on the Luzt chat said that two teams from the same conference can not participate in the same exempt tournament. It has the ring of truth but I haven't verified.

7.50 for a 20 oz. beer is really not terrible. Although, in an attempt to set a good example for the kids, I refrained from drinking any this time around.
