After beating #1 UNC last night....I say top 15. They were already getting votes before that game anyway.

If it was an unranked, undefeated, BCS blueblood, they would go straight to top 5. Unfortunately, since UNLV is a lowly mid-major with a new coach, i'm going to hope for 10-15. BTW, if we take out UNLV, IMO that negates the unfortunate Puerto Rico situation. Lets hope they are still undefeated when they get here.

I watched the game last night and UNLV played at an unbelievable pace. Looked like a team peaking for March Madness. I agree, a win here would make up for PR. Can't let this opportunity to play a ranked team slip by without a win. What do we have left 3? UNLV once and CU two times. That's if CU keeps their ranking by the time we meet. I'm sure HCGM will make sure the team knows what's at stake! Go Shox! When your not practicing, someone somewhere is and when you meet him...he'll beat you.

With that said, the Shox have been given another opportunity to get an all so important non-con high RPI win. I certainly hope that the Shox play their game and not UNLV's like UNC did. If we do, we have a great shot of winning. Lastly, in checking their message board, their fans are looking past us straight to their Wisconsin game. I would love nothing more than for the Shox to remind UNLV and their fans that we have a pretty decent program here and send them packing to Wisconsin with a loss.

I have a feeling the players went into Puerto Rico thinking that the guards were in control of the team and that we were going to drain 3 pointers like they were layups. We had a big reality check and now realize that Smith and Kyles are the only shooters that are remotely consistent from the 3. Hopefully the UAB game was an eye opener as to what will happen when you follow the coaches plan.

Well KC Shox. Our Coach will remind our squad that we do have another game to play and win first. Then after we take care of our business at hand, we move onto this huge game. On our home court and a full house, if we are hitting on all cylinders for most of 40 minutes, such an upset win is within the confines of reality. Stranger things have happended and I hope we seize a rare opportunity for the win and I just know you want this win too.Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

I'm glad we have a game (another one or two would have been nice) before we take on UNLV. They were outstanding in the win over UNC. I agree that if the Shocks let UNLV dictate the tempo they will be in big trouble. We are going to have to find our shooting touch in addition to playing our trademark tough D. Hopefully, we will use the CSF game and the practice time available to get things more on track offensively.
UNLV looks like they have been a little up and down this year. Their scores this year (including their exhibition game):
58-50 Washburn (Exhibition)
83-66 Grand Canyon (Home)
71-67 Nevada (Home)
95-70 Canisius (Home)
92-55 Morgan State (Home)
75-52 Cal Poly (Home)
66-55 USC (Orleans Arena - Las Vegas)
90-80 #1 UNC (Orleans Arena - Las Vegas)
UNLV does go on the road at UC-Santa Barbara on Wednesday. It would have been nice if the WSU game was their first trek outside of Las Vegas. However, I doubt that UCSB will provided anywhere near the environment they will face at Koch Arena.
This is the kind of game where Shocker fans can play a signficant role in the outcome.

It'll mean that the Shox would be 0-3 against top tier programs and confirmation that the Shox are just an average to slightly above average program who can't seem to turn the corner - again.Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.
