Good to see our guards have figured out that nobody left on the schedule can defend our frontcourt. We can do that every single game.

Ooh Zinger! from Marshall in the post-game interview:

I'll try to quote from memory:
'That quote from Murry - 'We're going to be a 3-point shooting team', well, get in the gym Toure, because right now the bread truck wears number 41 and he's 7 feet tall".
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

Sorry, but that quote makes no sense, whatsoever. I laughed when I heard it.

Yes, we can always use 17 points by Mr. Stutz. Nice job getting the rock to him by our beloved Shocks. Once that is established each and every game, then and only then we can kick it for the wide open 3's.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

I'll try to explain. Murry was quoted in the Wichita Eagle that WSU would be a 3-point shooting team this year. I don't think I need to point out that that plan hasn't worked very well so far.

Shooting 3's seems to be the plan of some of the players and does not appear to be Marshall's plan.

So, if the perimeter players want to make WSU a 3-point shooting team, they need to get in the gym (extra practice) until they can make some of them. Until that happens, Marshall wants the ball in Garrett's hands.

What was all the hype about prior to the game against UAB. This game turned out to be another Maryland-Eastern Shore type of competition. I don't think I am the only Shocker fan who was disappointed about spending money above and beyond the season ticket costs, SASO expense, etc,...to see competition like this in IBA.

Some may see this as a good win, but in February, many might be considering this another bad win on the schedule come tournament selection time.

I see the point...you would rather have seen the Shockers beat UAB in double overtime!!!

20-20 hindsight scheduling. We could make millions. Let's see, did MES go to post season the last 4 years?

Shocks defense was very solid tonight for the entire 40 minutes. Obviously we did not shoot the ball well in the 1st half, but the 2nd half was a very good all-around effort. Gave up a few too many offensive rebounds for my taste but UAB does have some athleticism. Cameron Moore is a very nice player.

I have great seats about 7 rows up at mid-court and enjoyed supper downtown with my grandson. Arrived at the arena a little early and since I had never been in the upper deck decided to check out the view from various vantage points. I was actually pleasantly surprised at the veiws from up there based on the complaining I have heard and I would have no problem attending a game with seats in the upper arena in the future.

Good solid win for the Shocks. Nice thing is we aren't close to our ceiling yet for this team.

Tekele Cotton is going to be one of my favorite players. He underestands the game and his hands and anticipation are great.
Thought Carl looked more in sync tonight.
EO continues to do what I hoped. You can tell he wants to improve and I'm sure will continue to contribute.
Jake is making strides. Evan needs to relax.

Offense still not what it should be but I think it will come.

I sat in the upper bowl tonight. I enjoyed myself. Great atmosphere. I could even understand the music and everything that was said on the P.A. system. I can understand why players like to play there once in a while. I hope that we do it once a year.

Had dinner at River City Brewery pre-game, and it was very good. Sat in the upper bowl and had a very good sight line. It never seemed to get very loud, but it got rowdy at a few points. Loved the play out of GS, CH, and EO tonight. Rags made me happy with 9 pts and 4 assists, not so much the 3 TO's. Cotton is awesome and I love when he is on the court. Only 13 TO's, won the rebounding battle by 11, hit 77% of our FT's. Overall, an enjoyable game. Parked at Lawrence-Dumont and used the shuttle service and it was pretty awesome.
