Good. Best news so far of the year. Bring 'em. Let's see what we're made of, the team and the fans. Put up or shut up.

    • I would agree. They look better than Alabama to me. At least tonight anyway. Vegas still up by 8 with 2:04 left in the game.

      • UNLV does shoot it up very quickly, they aren't trying to sit on the lead at all. This could bite them at the end.

        • Vegas is up by 9 with 1:02 left but as fast as they shoot it, I still feel like UNC has a small chance.

Told you so. Been preaching it since day 1. Perfect opportunity for the Shox to redeem themselves from that trip to PR. Expect madness unlike any other (yes, even more than the Texas Tech game) at the Koch.

              • If UNC would make their FTs they might actually have a chance to win this, it's hard to believe that the #1 team would be so terrible from the line.

                • Roy Williams waves the white flag. He has taken all of his regulars out of the game.

                  • This is the biggest gift we could ever hope for in terms of scheduling. Absolutely terrific news. Koch is going to be nuts.

                    • Vegas Wins! The crowd storms the court. Final Score: 90-80.

This could be the quality win we need. Now we just need to find a way to beat them. It won't be easy.

                      • We're going to have to play a great game, and the fans are going to have to bring it too! We can't complain about scheduling now. If we can defend our home court for the next 2 weeks, we'll be looking excellent going into MVC play and RPI shouldn't be a problem.

Yep. We lucked out here. This is a must-win if we want an at-large come March. It's at home too. Can't ask for much else..

                          ... No really, deuces.

                          • The problem with teams like UNC is that they are so used to running teams out of the gym that when they run into a team that doesn't mind running with them they can't bring themselves to do the thing that could give them the win - slow down the tempo. Washburn gave UNLV fits in their exhibition game by slowing the tempo on them. As good as UNLV looked, I'd want to make them prove that they have the patience to play a half-court game.

Good points. Vegas couldn't even slow it down the last few minutes against UNC. I was worried that their very quick shots might let UNC back in the game.
We just need to get it done. This would be a very big win for us if we could pull it off.

                              • I know it is early in the year but UNLV was 49th in rpi before this game, but moved up 25th according to warren nolan.
