I think you have a good idea. They should keep the batwu video but run it at a different time to fire up the kids.

They really need to come up with something much better to hype up the crowd just before the team comes running onto the court. Almost anything else would be better. In fact, at this point, why don't they just let the band play something that gets the crowd going. They are trying to get way too fancy.

Yes the batman video might be cool to young kids, but its not for the students or anybody older than that. Iron Wu was ok for 1 or two seasons but the fighter jet one before both of these was pretty solid. Also the past two games in Wichita, you couldn't hear Marshall speaking in the second video tell half way through. All im saying is we have a great basketball atmosphere and these 2 videos contribute to that in a small way before the game to pump the crowd up. The Audio problems shouldn't be happening, it really pisses me off.

Serioulsly folks, some of us need to find some real issues to complain about this year. I don't think the BatWu video is one of them that Shocker fans should spend any more time discussing. It is what it is.
In terms of charging up the atmosphere before a game, I'd say it is a real issue. If you want this program to be a "real solid basketball program", then these are the basic issues you have to be able to not fail at. This type of mindset absolutely screams low-major.

The whole Wu cartoon thing had its day about 5 years ago. Time for something different. Time for a piece that isn't intended for about 5% of the people in the arena.

If you don't think atmosphere and basic game production is an issue, then you need to head back to the juco circuit.

            You're a flipping moron.

I complain about things that are worth complaining. You complain about things because you're a sourpuss that doesn't understand basic economics, nor anything outside of the "Koch environment".

Economics? I think that it is something about supply and demand. For example, if one has 14,000 tickets to sell, and only sells 12,000, that would be an example of having more supply than demand. That's economics. I do understand that you think your issues are important, and that issues of others are not important. That seems obvious to me, and probably to everyone else on the board, I suppose.

Just curious because I really don't know. Is the band leader a faculty member, a grad student, or just a senior member of the band? If it is a faculty member to me the problem runs much deeper than the athletic department.

Yep, the games have been failures because they have not been sellouts. I suppose 12,000 is more than 10,500 so an additional 1,500 people got to see a Shocker basketball game that normally wouldn't have been able to if played in the home venue. I guess those 1,500 people aren't that important to you.

It seems as if nobody has had your back on this issue, as you have gotten obliterated by everyone else who has commented on the issue. I guess that won't help the old, bitterness bug that has bitten you for a while now, huh?

Good question. I have no idea. I think regardless who it is, the game productions crew could communicate with the band a bit more and get things all fixed up. A faculty member would be a bigtime fail.

I'm not bitter at all. Actually, I am working to forgive you for what you are. I'm not sure that I agree with you when you say the games have been failures, though. You are correct when you say that 12,000 is more than 10,500. Absolutely.

In the past it has always been a graduate assistant, and often a different one each year. My post above outlines how this could potentially be addressed.
You miss 100% of the shots you don't take....

.....but, statistically speaking, you miss 99% of the shots you do take.

You are bitter. That's why you didn't go to the game.

I'm certainly not asking for your forgiveness, Father. Your next sentence either confirms that you are a.) way too slow for internet message boards or b.) you can't read sarcasm well, which leads to a.)

It's a shame that you don't feel 1,500 people are important enough to see a WSU basketball game. You got checkmated and that's the best you could fire back with? You need to work more on your analytical discussion skills. They suck.

Maybe you do need a babysitter because apparently I have to spell every obvious thing out to you:

YES I WENT TO THE GAME. I SUPPORTED MY TEAM, COACHES, AND UNIVERSITY. YOU DID NOT.
