During the brief span after the game interview 3G said that Hall is a great gentleman off the court. After the game he took coach Marshall by the arm and said "thanks for the opportunity". I guess at other times he has told coach "thanks for choosing me". Bob Hull responded and said " I have coached mean tough players but they were never very nice off the court" apparently in reference to 3G's appraisal of Carl Hall. The team played some of the best defense for the first 27 minutes or so that I have ever seen played by the Shox. It was like someone was orchestrating it all and then you realized these guys know exactly what they should be doing and what it takes to get it done. It really was a thing of beauty. Nothing that I can add to any of the other observations other than I am surprised we only red shirt one this year, but maybe that was the plan all along.

I was impressed.
Carl Hall could average 10 and 10 this year. Absolutely phenomenal in the paint.
Ehimen looked a lot more comfortable and was a major presence on D.
Stutz will be fine. Not a good night.
DK was on fire!!! Looked very comfortable and played within himself.
Nice to see Toure on the court for a few minutes. Looked a bit rusty
Cotton is a stud. Can't imagine what kind of play we'll see from him when he's a SR. Absolute STUD!!!
Wessel maay have broken his nose. I'm not surprised. Was surprised to see him get in the game though. But if he gets minutes, it'll only make us that much better next season as well as this.
White is a tough kid. He'll be fine as the sesaon goes on.
Surprised at the minutes Anacreon got, or should I say, didn't get.
Smith is rock solid. Love that guy.
Rags was a little off tonight, but he's a leader.
Who am I missing? Great effort all around tonight. Can't wait to see what we do in Puerto Rico.
I'm not going to say the officiating sucked, but there were A LOT of calls based on the score and not what actually happened on the court.Infinity Art Glass - Fantastic local artist and Shocker fan

What a group of athletes
How long before EO is the starting center?
I was somewhat surprised all the freshmen played. I would have thought either White or Wessles might have taken the RS.
It is really comforting to know that with Stutz and Murry not playing well, we are so athletic that they weren't missed. I know that won't be the case next week, so they both have to play better. But as all those have said about EO, we are not appearing to lose anything when he replaces Stutz, and I think his energy level is better. If he starts hitting the bunnies in games, watch out.
I hope David Kyles wants to be all Valley First team. If he keeps his head about him, he will be.
Cotton has the maturity of a Junior already.
DWill is solid but still a work in progress.
I think this is as solid a first game as we have seen from the Shox in many years, perhaps since the 80's.

[QUOTE=kcshocker11;273359]Anyone see how Teddy H reacted to the game?[/QUOTE
I don't know which one was Teddy but when Charleston took the first time out and the Shox were all jumping around the two young men in street clothes were jumping and bouncing with the rest of em, so yeah I would say Teddy was having a great time. Also it was great to have Karla Burns belt out the National Anthem and thank you WSU for recognizing us Veterans.

2) Just curious who likes the "you still suck" after a made free throw? I hate it, glad they quit with the "balls" part though, that was even worse.

Production is a third-rate operation and seems to be getting worse, instead of getting better. Absolutely blew balls. Our players and fanbase deserve better than that joke. If it's not improved by our next game in Koch, you better believe somebody will be receiving a phone call. I'm TIRED of it.
In regards to your 2nd point, the student section seems a bit disorganized. Sure, it was a Sunday game, first game of the year, but apparently nobody from the student body reads this site or they just ignored the suggestions that we have provided them with. Hopefully the energy picks up before they totally miss out on what could be a great season..Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.

One of our collective concerns approaching this Season was the loss of 3 bigs and Hatch. After all, we really were a very solid rebounding team last Season. It is too early to say just how good this team might be. Today, so many bright spots manifested under the bright lights. How will we do against much stiffer competition? Stay tuned because we will soon find out. Even so, Mr. Double Double to be, Carl Hall showed how very hungry he is for the bounds. Kyles, DW, Ben, Cotton, and EO were quite impressive to say the least. How do we win so easily when Toure', Stutz, and Rags were quite flat compared to what we know they will being doing on a regular basis? I say that because those 3 will all be huge this very season.Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.
