How many were counting redshirts drop? Cotton, right off the bat. Wessel, little surprised. Oh, looks like Jake might sit, oops, no here he comes. Could it be that JA is a redshirt candidate? Gregg keeps us guessing until late in the game. Nope. Baker and only Baker. Gregg knows best.

Carl Hall--a beast to say the least. He will be a double-double man and might put windex out of buswax.
Stutz and Rags were a little off. Sub is probably not worried and nither Is FSF. Can ya dig it? Groovy. Please, GS, pick and choose the fouls. We want you on the floor and our opponents don't.
DK--When he is hot, he is sweltering baby. Yikes!!!
EO--What an improvement thus far. I like it, I like it alot.
Toure'--This will be a very nice Season.
Freshmen--This is a solid group and they will play like Sophs before we know it.
DW--Nice stroke tonight. He is at his best when he plays under control, not trying to force the issue.
Ben--I said it b4 and I will say it again. It will be hard to not have him on the floor. Ben will be solid.
In conclusion, K-State---did you take notes? Tsk, tsk, Our defense was the difference.Last edited by forevershockerfan; November 13, 2011, 07:29 PM.Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

Lots to like today. The guys really looked like a team interested in playing and competing....consistently. Kyles was fantastic.
In fairness, the pace and the quickness was a bad matchup for Garrett....still, he needs to be more engaged than he was tonight.

I was really worried about this one but we absolutely took all that worry out in the first 3 minutes. This team is stacked, especially in the backcourt. Stutz picked up stupid fouls. With him out, I was still impressed how well we took out this team, yeah, the same team who led Kitten State 80% of the way. We can get away with it against smaller teams. Not gonna fly in Puerto Rico though.
Kyles and Smith are starting off strong. Kyles did the same thing last year. No disappearing acts this year though, please. Very valuable weapons. Williams played under control and had his stroke working. Rags made a really good pass in the first half. His defense is solid. He is our leader. Hall is, as others have put it, A BEAST. I LOVE HIM. He is gonna be a HUGE help down low this year. It's almost like we gained a bit from the loss of Gabe and JT. Cotton was also impressive. His defense is stellar and he is quite the athlete. Loved the jam. Nice to have a third really good option at the point. EO is a good defender. He had some great swats today. His offense is still not there but I was happy to see him drain two throws in a row. That's a start I guess. White and Wessel looked a bit rattled. Kinda figured against this quick of a team. Murry was a bit out of control again. His one bailout foul in the first half was ugly.
Overall, very impressive win. Really looks good to dominate these guys after Kitten State nearly got floored by them. Kitten State must suck this year.
Now on to the BIG games..
EDIT: Also loved how the team passed today. So unselfish. That is textbook for breaking down a pesky zone. I really LOVE the unselfishness of this team.Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.

Very impressive start.
Kyles is going to have a special season. He has also embraced a leadership role.
Murry will continue to do everything well and get better when healthy
DW was very impressive to me. He has really stepped it up.
Rags will be solid at point
Stutz will do welljust has to stay out of foul trouble
EO did a fantastic job. He changes the game.
Carl Hall is so fun to watch. He really knows how to find the ball.
Cotton was the biggest surprise. He is going to be a player.
Wessell still has great hussle. Young Graham Hatch.
White fought hard. Needs to work on his offesive presence
Anacreon surprised me that he was the last off the bench. I thought he would give us more.

They share the ball unlike any team I've seen at WSU in I don't know how long. That's going to go a long way.
Kyles A+. His effort and execution were almost flawless. Hall and Cotton also get an A. If you don't like Carl Hall there is no hope for you. Earlier someone compared Cotton to Matty B.....I love Matt like a brother but Cotton is something else entirely. This MAN can sack up on the defensive end.
Ehimen gets credited for 3 blocks.....okay. He altered another 3-5 (at least) and simply detoured another 3-5 who decided eating the ball was less favorable than passing to someone, anyone else. Sometimes the defense is going to learn that Ehimen is there to fix it if they get beat and not to foul. At least 3 times someone got to the line when they were fouled by a recovering Shocker on D, when in fact EO was going to erase the living s out of the shot.
Plenty to improve upon....but lots to like as well.

DK - Saw similar confidence shooting the 3 he displayed the first 6 games of last year. I did see him a couple of times take advantage of his athleticism moving towards the rim. 4 rebounds & 4 assists make him even more valuable.
Smith - Will no doubt be our most consistent 3-pt shooter, but his ability to fill out a stat sheet and defend will make him hard for the opposition to account for.
Demetric - Love his ability to shoot from the SG position, but is the third best PG on the team.
Rags - He will score when needed to this year, just not today. Ast-TO ratio 3-1...no surprise there.
Stutz - Appears fouling is still a concern, however not a great matchup for him today. He will be excellent when matching up against real post players...not too concerned.
Hall - For the next 2 years will be the best rebounder since X. Has a nose and passion for the ball...period. 5 offensive rebounds today...can you say "fetch rover."
EO - His ROI has risen. Some knuckle brain named SHOXMVC is sampling crow casserole at least for tonight (yes, I can even laugh at myself). Although he is a freak pursuing the ball for block shots and rebounds, he looks so uncomfortable pursuing the rim on offense (I feel for him). My jury is still out. I will enjoy being wrong in this case...trust me.
Cotton - By far the second best PG on the team...not even close. Has poise and maturity beyond his freshman status. Is one of the strongest PG in recent memory and is tough on D. 4-5/2-3 from the field...impressive.
Wessel - Today not withstanding, will get some time and will be of value this season. I still think he is Graham Hatch reincarnated.
White - Not worried about his offense, or his ability to rebound, his D-1 instinct and foot speed will get better. Like him alot.
Anacreon - A head scratcher here. I know he is a little behind the other players because he didn't go on the summer trip and missed a brief time earlier in practice, but I thought he was a strong candidate to backup at the 4. He came off the bench very late in the game considering the scoring margin.
EXCITED FOR A GOOD RUN THIS YEAR SHOCKER FANS!!!
