Every time I think about the valley I get a little nostalgic and remember when we were members. Then articles that show our new conference members ken pom rankings (and ours) I am so grateful that we aren't still in the valley. We don't have to rely on a killer non con schedule to build our rpi and then hope we win the valley tournament to get in. Thanks to all those people that have worked so hard that got us into the AAC. I'm proud to be an American

I love seeing these stories about what our guys have been working on to help the team. Something about this year makes me think we’ve got a group of young men who have bought in to the system completely. It reminds me of the FVV/Baker/Cotton days. I don’t really want to draw comparisons between those teams and this one quite yet. The opening tip has yet to be tossed. But I’m really excited to see how this bunch develops!Once a Shocker, Always a Shocker-- RIP Guy Alang-Ntang

I'm hoping for leadership. If we can find a leader or leaders, I think this team will be just fine. But again, its difficult to comment until I've seen the goods. Like last year, hopes were probably high, and that first exhibition really left a sour taste in the mouth - I mean, we almost lost the thing, didn't we? Maybe my memory is just going bad. Wait till Tuesday and I'm sure we'll have opinions out the wazoo!

Revisiting this thread now after a crappy exhibition game. OK it was actuay a decent exhibition game. There is a lot to like in this group of players. Even the new ones. Some would argue "especially" the new ones. I put my vote in the 25-27 win range. Based on the higher number of home games - if the SHocks challenge defensively nearly every possession and can play together and get back to what made WSU Basketball great, I really like our chances. We certainly have the skilled bodies (finally), again. Maybe explains Marshall being a little more relaxed this season. Just being able to make the easy shot and not have to force at the end of a shot clock, I like our chances of Top 3 in the AAC. Top 3 in the AAC puts us in the 25-27 range and back in the NCAA Tourney. Go Shocks!
