"Wichita State University's men's basketball program Friday announced the university and Visit Wichita teamed up for Wichita State's selection as one of four host sites for the second Annual NCAA College Basketball Academy, taking place during a week next summer from July 20 trough July 26.

“We’re thrilled that Wichita has been selected as one of only four sites in the country to host the NCAA’s second annual College Basketball Academy,” said Brian Hargrove, executive director of sports development at Visit Wichita. “The success of Wichita State Athletics combined with top-notch facilities has set us up for this win, and the opportunity to host yet another NCAA event.”

Winthrop University, the University of Connecticut and the University of Utah join Wichita State as College Basketball Academy host sites.

The NCAA says the college basketball academy is "a new developmental boys basketball academy for prospective student-athletes in the classes of 2020, 2021 and 2022."

Most reports from the first round of these academies weren't good. Very few top-100 (if any) type players or high level coaches. But it is a work in progress and will hopefully grow in popularity. Can't hurt to get kids on campus.

I think that's ok. I am sure DD, ES, JB and several others who weren't close to being top 100 would have loved to come here a couple years ago.
