  • Rivals' ranking of top senior classes

Rivals ranked the top five schools with the best sophomores, juniors and finally seniors. The rankings of the best senior classes was in order, Vanderbilt, Missouri, Purdue, Long Beach State and New Mexico. I mention this because, "New Mexico got the fifth spot by the slightest of margins over reigning NIT champion Wichita State..."

We'll have to wait on the sophomores until the fill-in group is completed. Manigault, Hamilton, and Richardson were not successes -- but Early is certainly promising, and Mitchell (assuming he gets his release from Ohio U, which would make him a junior next year) is a pretty good walk-on. That won't get WSU into anyone's top five, but it illustrates one of the reasons it's so good to have Marshall on board: when he and his staff miss, they just go back and fill in the blank.
