Being a motorcycle guy, I think it's pretty cool that they did that and Self joins in on the fun. If he likes that stuff, more power to him.

If Marshall did his job last year and beat VCU at home in the Bracket Busters game, VCU does not get an at-large big.

Now, if I were to channel the KU fans in that thread I would say something like, "see, it's WSU's fault that KU lost in last year's tournament."

I had a conversation about KU with a high ranking official from the WSU athletic department a few years ago. What was said in the conversation is what makes me wonder about all of this.

I think WuDrWu was referring to the good ol days in the early 80s (and maybe before) when KU turned in WSU "recruiting violations" which cost the Shox a final 4 or two. Right about that time the WSU medical school was shut down right before it began. WSU loses football (totally unrelated to KU) and basketball falls into the abyss. Hometown WSU ball boy Mo Evans verbals to the Shox and things look like they're on the upswing and low and behold, Huckle-berry-hound cries foul and in rushes the NCAA.

I know there's more but that's what I've got. I'm a far bigger WSU fan than my Dad (at least at this point in our lives) yet he still despises KU as he lived thru the really nasty times. I could just care less.

Who knows what started it. As far as I know at least, it was after the season ended, at the NIT celebration at Koch. Obviously KU admin. and fans keep track of what WSU does. Maybe the reason Zenger reacted and made his comment was because WSU did some thing worthy of national attention in basketball. Basketball is KU's prized sport. The KU admin. in the athletic department probably was just acting insecure because they get flack from some where about not scheduling WSU. My best guess. But anyways, KU fans cooking up some supposed story that Marshall doesn't like Self, that's ridiculous. Somebody from one of the schools needs to make a public statement over the matter.

I'm sure Zenger was watching us win the NIT and was following us closely. Afterall, KU wasn't doing anything anymore at that time.

Let's not forget that some of the bad blood between WSU and KU go further back, to the time when then WU was trying to become a state institution. KU, via its very heavy influence in the legislature and Board of Regents at that time made the move to being a state school very, very difficult. God bless President Harry Corbin and the work he did in making us Wichita State University, a battle that took from 1955 to 1963.

Hey, every school in a big conference with a big sports program has a bunch of fans that never went to the school (in all probability) . UT in football and KU in basketball, I don't see much difference in either one of these two groups.......
