  • So how good were the "experts" picks ?

If you know of any others feel free to add them. Seems like the main mistakes made this year was not guessing the collapse of UConn and SMU. Also the overachieving South Florida. One oddity I noticed was with Tulsa - most everyone seemed to be putting them in roughly the right spot but for some reason #8 just was not selected.

Here are the final conference rankings:
    1. Houston 16-2
    2. Cincinnati 14-4
    3. UCF 13-5
    4. Temple 13-5
    5. Memphis 11-7
    6. WSU 10-8
    7. South Florida 8-10
    8. Tulsa 8-10
    9. Connecticut 6-12
    10. SMU 6-12
    11. East Carolina 3-15
    12. Tulane 0-18
You might say a big thanks to Tiger1983 at csnbbs, com who gathered a lot of these together. Would have posted this over there but I forgot my password.

    predictions are like prostitutes...

gives the fans something to talk and get excited about when nothing else is going on and a chance for the applicable company to show off their advertising.

...that’s why they play the games...

Picking WSU 3rd or 4th is either not paying enough attention to the massive turnover in players or not giving the AAC enough credit as a conference.

Not sure how some of those could have had SMU as high as they did.

No doubt USF was the surprise team and only fell out of the top half late in the season.

While Houston was generally picked high, few had them to win it.

Missing badly before conference play is worse than pre-season (pre-transfer/elegibility). That said, looks like anyone on this board could be a professional analyst if they wanted.
