    <<<THIS>>>

Nobody cares save for a few on this board and the promoters. WSU gets its money. Doesn't care. 3G knows about fans. Doesn't care. KjSU fans don't have a dog in this hunt. Shouldn't care. WSU players will still be playing in front of 8,000-10,000. Don't care. Promoters will make a buck, see that it could be bigger profit with right teams, cares but won't affect the future.

For what it is worth, when I just checked IntrustBankArea.com, a splash add for the KSU-WVU game came up. It looks like they are still pushing to sell tickets for that one.

I'm not worried. Few things in Wichita sell out immediately, we're lazy midwesterners!! :) But I do agree, the success (or lack thereof) of ticket sales at this game will have a lasting affect on our ability to schedule similar games against BCS opponents. This is a test we HAVE to pass.

Students can purchase tickets in the student section for $11 until Nov. 11.

I hope a lot of students take advantage of this deal.
It seems like lately we've had trouble filling up the student section with free tickets right on campus. Having them pay $11 or $17 to go across town doesn't seem like it's gonna bode well with a big student turnout. In fact, numbers sold are still in the double-digits. Again, cross your fingers for a big walk-up..

What sense of perception do you think Marshall will get with the turnout?

It's one game. But it's one game about 5 miles from campus against a Top 100 opponent, second best on our home non-con slate. If you think a half-empty arena isn't a big deal, well then, I just don't understand your mindset.. If people who have season tickets can't spring the extra $20 for one additional home game, then maybe they shouldn't have season tickets in the first place..

UAB is the second best team on our home schedule. They are a pretty decent team. It beats Arkansas-Monticello. If you feel it won't affect future outings at IBA, you're dead wrong.

A poor turnout might very well affect future games at IBA.

If you think WSU season ticket holders are upset that this game isn't in the season ticket package, imagine what KSU season ticket holders are going through. KSU gets the dream matchup with WVU. It's Martin against the guy who jilted them after just one year - and the game is in WICHITA - and not in the season ticket package.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

It may grate on him for a few days or until the next game, but I seriously doubt it will ever be a factor. I can't see Marshall looking at that game after the season and deciding that's a reason to take an offer to coach somewhere else.

Yes, I know you didn't say it would, but the implication is there. Otherwise, why bring it up?

Just show well in Puerto Rico so that this sucker auto sells-out. I ask for nothing more.

If we go into UAB undefeated. It gets close to or does sell out.

I have seen or heard a lot of advertising for the KSU-WVU on the radio and on the internet. I have yet to hear or see a single ad for the WSU-UAB game.

Considering that our game is about 2 weeks before their game, it should be the opposite.

The 2 games obviously have different promoters. Most of the tickets for the Ksu-WVU are in the $18 to $28 range, while most of our tickets cost $47 or more. And there is a lot of promotion for their game and none for ours. I wonder what the payouts are for the Ksu-WVU game?

Clearly the two promoters are using two different paradigms. Both may point to the same thing, that sales are slow.

With such affordable prices and a fanbase that is above reproach, I'm surprised they have to promote the KSU game at all.

Ya, one of the promoters has done this before; the other appears to be somewhat challenged. The KSU game obviously is a better draw for lots of different reasons. More notably, the opponent, the fact that it's gonna be on ESPN2, the prices were better, etc. This game has about 1500 tickets left. It will sell out.

The WSU game is sitting below half-capacity. It will take a big push to get this thing over the 5-digit attendance mark. The price cuts and discounts may help. The promotional effort is coming a little late though. The TV commercials are the first ones I've seen in any promotion of this game. Hell, I haven't even seen many WSU basketball ads in general. But that is a different discussion.

I dunno why the KSU game is being actively promoted on the IBA site and not the WSU game. That is not the best marketing. Maybe though, there is a deal with the KSU promoter and a fee is being paid to IBA to get the extra spalsh ad on the IBA site. That again is something that is being done by the promoter, not necessarily IBA.
